**A Morning Invitation**
Part 3
The sunlight streaming through the windows of the butcher shop highlighted the rustic charm of the old building, and Lexi couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as she pushed open the door. Marco looked up from the counter, a warm smile spreading across his face as he caught sight of her. "Buongiorno, Lexi," he said, his voice low and smooth. "What brings you in so early?" Lexi walked up to the counter, her eyes locking onto Marco's. "I was thinking, since we got cut off last night, maybe we could grab breakfast together?" she suggested, trying to sound casual. Marco's expression changed, a hint of surprise followed by a warm smile. "I'd love to," he said, wiping his hands on his apron. "But I have to finish up some orders first. How about I meet you somewhere?" Lexi thought for a moment, and then a mischievous idea struck her. "Actually, why don't you come over to my place instead?" she asked, trying to sound nonchalant. Marco's eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of surprise in his expression. "You're inviting me to your place?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Lexi nodded, feeling a sense of boldness wash over her. "Yeah, I can whip up some breakfast, and we can catch up some more." Marco's face broke into a warm smile, and he nodded. "I'd love to," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "But I have to warn you, I'm a bit of a messy guest. I hope you don't mind." Lexi laughed, feeling a sense of excitement build in her chest. "I think I can handle it," she said, smiling. Marco checked his watch, and then nodded. "I'll be there in 30 minutes," he said, already moving towards the back of the shop to start closing up. As Lexi walked back to her car, she couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. She had a feeling that this was going to be a very interesting morning. She quickly made her way home, her mind racing with thoughts of what might happen next. When Marco arrived at her doorstep 30 minutes later, Lexi greeted him with a warm smile. "Hey," she said, stepping aside to let him in. Marco walked into the apartment, his eyes taking in the modern decor. "Your place is beautiful," he said, his voice filled with genuine admiration. Lexi smiled, feeling a sense of pride. "Thanks," she said, leading him into the kitchen. "What can I get you for breakfast?" As they stood in the kitchen, Lexi couldn't help but feel a sense of intimacy wash over her. She was inviting a virtual stranger into her home, and yet, she felt a sense of ease with Marco that she hadn't experienced with anyone in a long time. As they cooked breakfast together, Lexi found herself stealing glances at Marco, wondering what the rest of the day might bring.
