"Stepping Out of Character"
Part 2
As Sikowitz droned on about the importance of immersion in acting, Beck's fingers began to wander, tracing gentle patterns on Maya's thigh under the guise of helping her with her script. Maya's eyes fluttered closed, her breathing slowing as she tried to focus on the lesson, but Beck's touch was like a whispered secret, making her skin prickle with awareness. Maya's gaze drifted back to Beck, her eyes locking onto his as he smiled mischievously, his fingers continuing their subtle exploration. She felt a flush rise to her cheeks, her heart beating just a little bit faster. Beck's eyes crinkled at the corners as he leaned in, his voice barely audible over Sikowitz's monologue. "Sorry, sorry," Beck mouthed, his fingers slipping under Maya's skirt, sending shivers down her spine. Maya's eyes widened, her gaze darting around the room to ensure no one was watching. Jade, seated across from them, seemed oblivious, her attention fixed on Sikowitz. Jade's eyes narrowed slightly as she watched Beck and Maya, a faint flicker of unease crossing her face before she masked it with a neutral expression. Tori, still flustered from her earlier mishap, was scribbling furiously in her notebook, her eyes fixed on Sikowitz. As Beck's fingers danced across Maya's skin, she felt her focus slipping, her mind fragmenting into a thousand different directions. She tried to push back, to concentrate on the lesson, but Beck's touch was like a siren's call, drawing her in with an irresistible force. Sikowitz's voice receded into the background as Maya's world narrowed to the gentle pressure of Beck's fingers, the warmth of his breath on her skin, and the thrumming of her own pulse in her veins. She felt herself melting into the sensation, her boundaries blurring as Beck's touch ignited a slow-burning fire within her. Just as it seemed like Maya was about to succumb to the distraction, Sikowitz slammed his hand down on the desk, making everyone jump. "And that's enough for today, people! I want you all to work on your scenes in small groups. Beck, you're with Maya. Jade, you're with Tori. Let's get to work!" As the class erupted into chaos, Beck's fingers withdrew, leaving Maya feeling bereft and yearning for more. She smiled up at Beck, her eyes sparkling with amusement, and he grinned back, his eyes burning with a promise of things to come. The two of them gathered their scripts and broke away from the group, finding a quiet corner of the room to work on their scene. As they began to rehearse, Maya couldn't shake the feeling that Beck's fingers had left an indelible mark on her, a subtle claiming that went beyond mere physical touch. As they worked, Jade and Tori paired up across the room, their faces intent as they rehearsed their own scene. Jade's eyes flicked to Maya and Beck, a hint of a frown crossing her face before she turned back to Tori. The dynamics between the students were about to shift, and the undercurrents of tension and attraction would soon boil to the surface.
