"A Twisted Epiphany"

Part 13

Blackwood let out a sigh, his forced smile finally faltering as he gazed at the horror-stricken faces of his guests. With a wave of his hand, he signaled to the servers, who quickly whisked away the offending dish. "I think it's time for a break," he said, his voice tinged with a mixture of disappointment and resignation. "You're free to leave, I'll eat alone for now. The other guests should be arriving shortly." As Lady and Max hastily made their exit, Blackwood couldn't shake off the feeling of bewilderment. He had been so certain that he had finally rid himself of Lady, that he had successfully eliminated the one person who could potentially expose his dark secrets. And yet, here she was, sitting across from him, looking more alive than ever. The implications were staggering, and Blackwood's mind was already racing with the possibilities. He had always known that he was dealing with something extraordinary, something that defied the laws of nature. But he had never suspected that it was this... this resilient. As he sat alone at the table, Blackwood's thoughts turned to the darker corners of the internet, the hidden marketplaces and underground forums where people traded in the most illicit and forbidden goods. He had always been aware of the existence of these places, but he had never seen the potential for profit. A twisted idea began to take shape in his mind, one that would allow him to capitalize on Lady's... unique condition. He would have her tracked, kidnapped, and killed, just to see if she would return. And if she did, he could sell her to the highest bidder, to the wealthy and depraved individuals who would pay top dollar for a chance to own a piece of the supernatural. The more Blackwood thought about it, the more he became convinced that he was onto something. He could make a fortune off of Lady, and he would stop at nothing to make it happen. As he waited for the other guests to arrive, Blackwood's eyes gleamed with a newfound excitement. He was no longer just a man with a secret; he was a man with a plan, a plan that would change the course of his life forever. The servers returned, curious about the sudden change in atmosphere. Blackwood smiled at them, his expression cold and calculating. "Bring me a drink," he said, his voice low and menacing. "Something strong. I have a feeling that it's going to be a long night."
