Chapter 3: A Date to Remember

Part 3

Makoto Kino had always been the planner of the group, often taking it upon herself to create the most unforgettable moments. As she sat in her small kitchen, scrolling through her phone, she couldn't help but smile at the news she'd heard just days prior: Minako and Ami were dating. The thought sent a flutter of excitement through her. She could already envision the perfect date for her two friends, a chance for them to explore their new relationship in a romantic way. "They deserve something special," she murmured to herself, already plotting out the details in her mind. That afternoon, Makoto decided to take the initiative. She called a few of her favorite restaurants, checking for availability, before finally securing a reservation at an intimate little bistro nestled against the backdrop of cherry blossom trees. The place had a charming ambiance, with soft lighting, gentle music, and even an outdoor terrace that would make it even more enchanting. Feeling energized by her plans, Makoto placed an order for a beautiful bouquet of cherry blossoms to be delivered to the bistro, a perfect token of her affection for the budding couple. As the clock ticked closer to the big day, she took her time preparing. She decorated the little table at the bistro with candles and the blossoms, ensuring it looked nothing short of magical. With a few personal touches, she hoped to create a setting where Minako and Ami could have a deep, meaningful conversation and create sweet memories. Finally, the evening arrived. Dressed in a casual yet elegant outfit, Makoto made her way to the bistro, her heart racing in anticipation of the joyous surprise she had orchestrated for her friends. She spotted them arriving through the restaurant's entrance, Ami gently nudging Minako's shoulder as they laughed together over something lighthearted. As they walked through the entrance, Makoto quickly waved from her hidden spot, immediately catching their attention. "Makoto! What are you doing here?" Minako asked, her face glowing with confusion and joy. "Surprise! I wanted to treat you both to a little celebration for the new couple!" Makoto replied with a smile, her excitement bubbling over. Ami’s eyes widened in delight. "Oh, you didn’t have to! This is amazing!" “Of course I did! You two need to celebrate this new chapter in a special way,” Makoto added, giving them each a gentle nudge. "Come on, let me show you your table!" As they made their way through the bistro, Minako and Ami exchanged glances, their cheeks warmed by the surprise. The candles flickered softly, and the scent of cherry blossoms enveloped them like a warm embrace. When they reached the table decorated just for them, they gasped. Birdsong drifted through the open windows, the warm glow of candlelight creating a serene atmosphere that seemed pulled from a dream. "Wow, Makoto! This is incredible!" Minako beamed, taking her seat, while Ami blushed, overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness behind the gesture. Makoto grinned, pleased by their reaction. "I thought you two should have a little something to mark this new beginning. You deserve it!" As the food began to arrive, the trio caught up on everything: school, life, and their oh-so-familiar battles against dark forces. But tonight, the conversation flowed with new feelings, encouragement, and laughter. For Makoto, being a part of this moment brought her immense joy. "So, how does it feel to be a couple?" Makoto teased, leaning back with a smile. Both Minako and Ami shared a knowing look, their cheeks quickly flushing again at the realization of their newfound connection. As the evening progressed, laughter and warmth enveloped them like a comforting blanket. For Minako and Ami, it was magical, but they also appreciated the love and support from their close friend, reinforcing how special these moments truly were.
