The Fishermen's Kindness
Part 5
The warmth of the tea seeped into Iduna's chilled bones as she sat in the small cabin of the fishing boat. The fishermen, whose names were Grim and Erik, bustled about, preparing a simple meal of fish and bread. Iduna watched them, her eyes feeling heavy with tears, but her throat was too raw to speak. Grim, the older of the two fishermen, handed her a warm blanket, which Iduna gratefully wrapped around her shoulders. Erik, a younger man with a bushy beard, smiled kindly at her and said, "You're safe now, lass. We'll get you back to land soon." As Iduna sipped the tea, she began to feel a sense of calm wash over her. The kindness of the fishermen, their gentle words and actions, were a balm to her battered soul. She looked at them, her eyes searching for something, but she didn't know what. Grim seemed to sense her gaze and smiled. "You're welcome to stay with us as long as you need," he said. "We'll get you back to Arendelle, or wherever you need to go." Iduna nodded, her eyes welling up with tears again. She didn't know where she was going, or what she would do when she got there. All she knew was that Agnarr was gone, and she was alone. As the day wore on, Iduna began to feel a sense of peace settle over her. The fishermen's kindness, their gentle words and actions, were helping to ease her grief. She began to eat the meal they offered her, savoring the taste of the fish and bread. As she ate, Erik told her about their village, about the people and the land. Iduna listened, her mind beginning to clear, and she found herself smiling, just a little. Grim looked at her and smiled back. "You're a strong one, lass," he said. "You'll get through this." Iduna nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the fishermen. They had taken her in, a stranger, and were showing her kindness and compassion. She didn't know how she would ever repay them, but she knew that she would never forget their kindness. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the water, Erik stood up and said, "We'll drop you off in Arendelle in a few days, lass. You'll be back with your daughters in no time." Iduna's heart skipped a beat at the mention of Elsa and Anna. She had been so worried about them, and now she knew that she would see them soon. She smiled, feeling a sense of hope that she hadn't felt in hours. Grim put a hand on her shoulder, and Iduna felt a sense of comfort at his touch. "You're not alone, lass," he said. "You have your daughters, and you have us. We'll get you through this." As the night wore on, Iduna drifted off to sleep, surrounded by the kindness of the fishermen. She knew that she still had a long way to go, but for the first time since the shipwreck, she felt a sense of hope. She would get through this, and she would find a way to heal.
