"A Night at Winterfell"

Part 5

As Rosaline descended to the great hall, she felt a sense of excitement wash over her. The warm light of the fire pit and the candelabras cast a golden glow over the room, making the long tables and benches seem almost festive. The sound of laughter and conversation filled the air, accompanied by the clinking of silverware and glasses. Her parents, Greatjon and Jocelyn Umber, sat at the high table, beaming with pride as they greeted her. Greatjon, the Warden of the North, stood up, his massive frame towering over the table, and wrapped Rosaline in a bear hug. "Ah, my little Rosie! It's been too long. I see the Starks have been treating you well?" Rosaline smiled, hugging him back. "They have, Father. I've been learning so much about the North and its customs." Jocelyn, with her warm smile and gentle eyes, took Rosaline's hand and led her to her seat beside Greatjon. As they sat down, Rosaline noticed that the Stark children were all chatting animatedly among themselves. Sansa, with her elegant gown and poised demeanor, caught her eye and smiled. Arya, with her wild hair and mischievous grin, was teasing Bran, who was listening with a patient smile. Robb, the eldest Stark son, was deep in conversation with Greatjon, discussing the latest news from the North. Rosaline spent the evening listening to the lively conversations and laughter, feeling grateful to be among people who had become like a second family to her. She had grown close to the Starks during her stay at Winterfell, and it was clear that they had accepted her as one of their own. As dinner progressed, Greatjon regaled the table with stories of his adventures in the North, his booming laughter and enthusiastic gestures making everyone laugh. Jocelyn chatted with Sansa and Arya, discussing their interests and hobbies. Rosaline found herself feeling at ease, enjoying the warmth and camaraderie of the evening. At one point, Robb turned to her and asked, "Rosaline, have you heard the latest news from the south? There's been talk of a great tournament being held in King's Landing, and I've been thinking of attending." Rosaline's eyes sparkled with interest, and she leaned in, eager to hear more. As the evening drew to a close, Rosaline felt grateful for the love and warmth of her adoptive family. She knew that she had found a new home at Winterfell, and she was excited to see what the future held for her and those she had grown to care about. As she caught Robb's eye across the table, she couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead for them, and for the North, in these uncertain times.
