Chapter 4: The Night of the Party
Part 4
The sound of thumping music and laughter filled the air as Lucas stepped into Tyler's mansion. He was in his element, surrounded by people who admired and feared him. With a drink in hand, he made his way through the crowded rooms, exchanging smiles and jokes with his classmates. His eyes scanned the room, searching for Enzo, whom he spotted standing by the window, looking out of place. Lucas's grin grew wider as he made his way towards Enzo. He was determined to make Enzo's night miserable, but as he approached him, he noticed that Enzo looked different. His eyes seemed brighter, and his posture was slightly more relaxed. Lucas's curiosity was piqued, but he wasn't about to let Enzo get off that easy. "Hey, Enzo," Lucas said, his voice loud and boisterous. "Having fun?" Enzo turned to face him, his eyes flashing with annoyance. "I'm tolerating it," he replied, his voice dry. Lucas chuckled and handed Enzo a drink. "Here, have this. It'll help you loosen up." Enzo hesitated for a moment, but then took the drink from Lucas. As he raised it to his lips, Lucas's eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, Enzo felt a jolt of electricity run through his veins. The music and laughter around them seemed to fade into the background as they stood there, locked in a silent understanding. Lucas couldn't help but notice the way Enzo's eyes sparkled in the dim light, and Enzo couldn't help but feel the way Lucas's presence seemed to draw him in. As the night wore on, Lucas and Enzo found themselves moving through the crowds, surrounded by their classmates. They danced and laughed, their inhibitions slowly fading away. The alcohol was taking effect, and Lucas was starting to feel a sense of freedom he rarely experienced. At one point, Lucas spun Enzo around, pulling him close as they danced to the music. Enzo's eyes met Lucas's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The tension between them was palpable, and Lucas could feel his heart pounding in his chest. As the music slowed, Lucas leaned in close, his breath hot against Enzo's ear. "You're not as boring as I thought you'd be," he whispered, his voice husky. Enzo's eyes flashed with anger, but Lucas just laughed and pulled him closer. The night wore on, and Lucas and Enzo found themselves growing more and more intoxicated. They stumbled out into the garden, the cool night air hitting them like a slap in the face. Lucas laughed and staggered, his eyes fixed on Enzo. "I'm glad you're here," Lucas slurred, his voice low and husky. Enzo looked at him, his eyes searching. "Why?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Lucas's grin faltered, and for a moment, he looked vulnerable. "Because you're the only one who doesn't fear me," he said, his voice cracking. Enzo's eyes softened, and he took a step closer to Lucas. As they stood there, the tension between them grew thicker, until it was almost palpable. Lucas's eyes locked onto Enzo's, and he felt a sense of connection he couldn't explain. And then, in a moment that seemed to slow down time, Lucas leaned in, his lips brushing against Enzo's. The kiss was soft and gentle, but it sent shivers down Enzo's spine. As they pulled away, Lucas's eyes searched Enzo's, and he saw something there that gave him hope. Maybe, just maybe, Enzo felt the same way. The night was young, and anything could happen.
