**Chapter 58: Betrayal and Desperation**

Part 58

"Dabi, why?! Where is Oboro?! Is he okay, Dabi???" I yelled, my voice echoing off the walls as I scrambled to my feet, my eyes fixed desperately on Dabi. Dabi's expression remained impassive, but for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of something in his eyes. A hint of guilt, perhaps? But it was quickly extinguished, replaced by his usual stoic demeanor. Tomura chuckled, clearly entertained by my outburst. "Ah, Oboro, you mean the little pet you've been so fond of?" he said, his voice dripping with malice. "Don't worry, he's...safe. For now." I felt a surge of anger and fear at his words. What did he mean by "safe for now"? What kind of twisted game were they playing with Oboro's life? "Dabi, tell me!" I pleaded, my voice shaking with desperation. "What's going on? Why are you doing this? You wouldn't...you wouldn't hurt Oboro, would you?" Dabi's gaze finally met mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of something there. A hint of apology, perhaps? But it was quickly replaced by his usual cold, calculating gaze. "I am doing what needs to be done," he said, his voice flat and emotionless. I felt a pang of betrayal at his words. How could he do this to me? To Oboro? We had trusted him, thought of him as a friend. Tomura leaned forward, his eyes glinting with excitement. "You see, we have a little plan in mind, and Oboro is a key part of it. And you, my dear, are going to help us make it happen." I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs. What plan could they possibly have that involved Oboro? And what did they want from me? Suddenly, the door creaked open again, and a figure walked in. It was Himiko Toga, her eyes gleaming with an unsettling intensity. "Ah, perfect timing," Tomura said, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Toga, our dear friend, has a special task in mind for you. One that requires your...unique skills." I felt a sense of dread wash over me as Toga's gaze settled on me. I knew that look, that hungry gleam in her eye. It was a look that spelled trouble, and I knew I was in grave danger. Toga's smile grew wider as she walked towards me, her eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," she said, her voice dripping with anticipation. "You're going to be a lot of fun to play with."
