**Recovery and Resolve**
Part 3
Miles sank back into the bed, feeling a wave of relief wash over him as Julian's words soothed his frazzled nerves. He closed his eyes, letting Julian's calm presence seep into his frazzled mind, and slowly, his breathing returned to normal. Julian sat down beside him, holding a cool glass of water to his lips. "Drink this, Miles," Julian said softly. "It'll help with the dehydration." Miles took a few sips, feeling the cool liquid soothe his parched throat. He opened his eyes to find Julian watching him with a concerned expression. "How long was I out?" Miles asked, his voice still weak. "About six hours," Julian replied. "You've been in and out of consciousness since you woke up. I've been keeping an eye on you." Miles nodded, trying to process the information. Six hours. That meant they were even further behind schedule than he thought. Julian seemed to sense his unease and put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Miles. I've got everything under control. The repairs are proceeding smoothly, and I've managed to stabilize the station's systems. But I need you to focus on getting better, not on fixing everything yourself." Miles sighed, feeling a twinge of guilt. He knew Julian was right, but it was hard to shake off the feeling of responsibility that weighed heavily on his shoulders. As he lay back, Miles noticed the medical equipment beeping softly in the corner of the room. He felt a surge of gratitude towards Julian, who had clearly been taking care of him while he was out. "Julian?" Miles said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yes?" Julian replied, his eyes locked on Miles'. "What's the status on the engines?" Miles asked, his mind still racing with worries about the station. Julian smiled reassuringly. "The engines are holding for now, but we need to get them fully online ASAP. I've managed to patch up the worst of it, but we still need to run diagnostics and make sure everything is functioning properly." Miles nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. At least Julian had things under control. As the hours ticked by, Miles drifted in and out of sleep, lulled by Julian's soothing voice and the gentle beeps of the medical equipment. When he finally woke up again, he felt more himself, his fever broken and his energy levels boosted. Julian was sitting in a chair nearby, his eyes fixed intently on a datapad in his hand. "Hey, you're awake again," he said, looking up with a warm smile. Miles sat up, feeling a bit more solid. "How long this time?" "About an hour," Julian replied, setting the datapad aside. "I've been running through the station's systems, making sure everything is functioning properly. We're still a bit behind schedule, but we should be able to get everything back online soon." Miles nodded, feeling a surge of determination. "I want to see the damage reports," he said, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. Julian raised an eyebrow. "Miles, you need to rest—" But Miles was already standing, his eyes locked on Julian's. "I need to see it, Julian. I need to know what's going on." Julian sighed, but nodded. "Okay, but just take it easy, okay? I'll show you the reports, but you have to promise me you'll focus on getting better, not on fixing everything yourself." Miles nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope. With Julian by his side, maybe he could actually get through this. As Julian handed him a data pad with the reports, Miles' eyes scanned the information, his mind racing with the details. He knew he had a long way to go, but with Julian's help, maybe – just maybe – they could get the station back online before it was too late.
