**Chapter 1: Reincarnation**
Part 1
As I slowly opened my eyes, I was met with an unfamiliar ceiling. I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to lie back down. Where was I? How did I get here? The last thing I remembered was being in the water, unable to breathe. I was drowning. But this wasn't the afterlife. I was in a school, I could tell by the rows of beds and the sound of murmured conversations coming from outside the room. As I struggled to piece together my memories, I noticed a dark shape hovering near the corner of the room. It was a shadow, but it seemed to be moving of its own accord. I blinked, wondering if I was hallucinating. The shadow coalesced into a more defined form, taking on a humanoid shape with glowing blue eyes. "Hello?" it said in a low, smooth voice. "My name is Osby, short for Obsidian. I'm your shadow." I stared at Osby, my mind reeling. A talking shadow? This was insane. But as I looked into Osby's eyes, I felt a strange sense of calm. Maybe this was real. Maybe I had somehow been reincarnated into this...this world. As I processed this information, I realized that I had a strange sensation within me, like a buzzing in my veins. I looked down at my hands and saw that they were glowing with a faint, dark energy. "What's happening to me?" I asked Osby, my voice shaking. "You have a quirk," Osby explained. "Shadow Manipulation. You can control and manipulate shadows, like me." I stared at my hands in awe, feeling a thrill of excitement mixed with fear. This was a lot to take in. I had so many questions, but before I could ask any of them, Osby spoke up again. "By the way, you're in the My Hero Academia universe. You're a student at U.A. High School now." My eyes widened as I processed this information. I had heard of this world, of course. I had watched the anime and read the manga. But I never thought I'd be a part of it. As I lay there, trying to wrap my head around my new reality, Osby hovered beside me, watching me with an unreadable expression. "So," Osby said, "what do you want to do first?" I thought for a moment. I wanted to know more about this world, about my quirk, and about my place here. But most of all, I wanted to know why I was here, and what my purpose was. "I want to know more about myself," I said finally. "And I want to know why I'm here." Osby nodded, as if expecting this response. "I'll help you figure it out," he said. "But for now, let's just focus on getting you settled in. You're going to need to get used to your new life here at U.A. High School." I nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, as long as I had Osby by my side.
