"Stormy Waters"
Part 4
The sun was shining brightly as Andrew, Nick, Leah, Mr. and Mrs. Birch spent a leisurely afternoon lounging in the pool. The warm weather and cool water had lifted everyone's spirits, and they were all enjoying each other's company. Andrew was floating on his back, letting the water support his body, while Nick clung to him, playfully splashing water in his face. As they laughed and joked, Andrew caught sight of Judd standing by the pool, his eyes fixed intently on them. For a moment, Andrew thought he saw a flicker of something in Judd's expression, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was. Judd's face seemed to darken, his eyes narrowing as he watched Nick clinging to Andrew. Suddenly, Judd's expression changed, his face twisting in a snarl. His eyes blazed with a fierce intensity, and his fists clenched at his sides. Andrew felt a shiver run down his spine as Judd's voice cut through the air, cold and menacing. "Nick, let him go," Judd spat, his words dripping with malice. Nick looked up, startled, and let go of Andrew. Andrew surfaced, gasping for air, as Judd stormed towards them, his eyes fixed on Nick. "What's wrong, Judd?" Mr. Birch asked, his voice calm and even, but Andrew could sense a hint of concern beneath the surface. Judd's response was immediate and explosive. "You know exactly what's wrong," he snarled, his voice rising. "You're all just sitting there, having a great time, while I'm stuck watching. Watching you and Andrew, laughing and joking together. It's sickening." The pool fell silent, the only sound the gentle lapping of the water against the sides. Leah looked at Judd, her eyes wide with fear, while Mrs. Birch placed a calming hand on Mr. Birch's arm. "Judd, calm down," Mr. Birch said, his voice firm but gentle. "Whatever's bothering you, we can talk about it." But Judd was beyond reason. His anger had been building for weeks, and now it was boiling over. He took a step closer to the pool, his eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can just talk about it?" he spat, his voice venomous. "You think you can just fix everything with a few words? You have no idea what it's like, being stuck in this house, watching you all have fun while I'm stuck on the outside." The atmosphere was electric with tension, and Andrew could sense the fear emanating from the others. Nick, still clinging to the side of the pool, looked like he was about to jump out and run. Leah was frozen in place, her eyes fixed on Judd with a mixture of fear and fascination. As Judd's anger continued to escalate, Andrew realized that they were all in grave danger. He didn't know what Judd was capable of, but he knew that they needed to get away from him, and fast. But as they sat there, frozen in fear, Andrew wondered if they would be able to escape the storm that was brewing.
