Sanctuary of Solace

Part 2

The warmth of Hange's chest was a comforting sanctuary, a place where I could escape the cruelty of the world. As I buried my face in his uniform, the sounds of the Survey Corp members' murmurs and shuffling footsteps faded into the background. I felt his gentle strokes on my hair, a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves. "Hange, I'm sorry," I whispered, my voice muffled against his chest. "Shh, don't apologize, my love," he replied, his voice low and gentle. "You're not to blame for their behavior. They're just a bunch of idiots who don't understand what it means to be kind." I pulled back, looking up at him with tear-stained eyes. His expression was a mixture of concern and anger, but his eyes, like a calm lake on a windless day, reflected a deep-seated love for me. As we stood there, I noticed Erwin Smith, the commander of the Survey Corps, approaching us. His eyes, a piercing brown, seemed to bore into my very soul. I felt a shiver run down my spine as he regarded me with a mix of curiosity and compassion. "Is he alright, Hange?" Erwin asked, his voice firm but gentle. Hange nodded, his grip on me tightening. "He's shaken, but he'll be fine. I won't let anyone hurt him again." Erwin's gaze lingered on me for a moment before he turned to Hange. "Good. We need to get back to work. We've received reports of a Titan sighting in the nearby forest. We'll be heading out soon." Hange's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in concern. "I don't think that's a good idea, Commander. He's not in the right state of mind for a mission." Erwin's expression turned stern. "I understand your concerns, Hange, but we can't afford to delay. The Titans won't give us a second chance. We'll need all hands on deck." I felt a pang of anxiety at the mention of Titans. Those monstrous creatures had been a constant threat to humanity, and I had a unique... let's say, connection with them. My hypersensitive senses allowed me to perceive the world in ways others couldn't, including the eerie presence of the Titans. As I stood there, caught in the midst of the conversation, I realized that I had a role to play in this world, a role that went beyond being just Hange's boyfriend. I had a unique perspective, one that could potentially help the Survey Corps in their fight against the Titans. But for now, I just wanted to be safe, to be protected, and to be loved. And as Hange wrapped his arms around me, holding me close, I knew that I had found my sanctuary, my solace, in him.
