The Royal Routine

Part 10

As Iduna and her daughters settled back into their routine, they began to receive diplomatic guests. Iduna was cordial, but her mind was elsewhere. The memories of the shipwreck and Agnarr's loss still lingered, and she found herself often lost in thought. Her brown hair, styled in a coronet braid, seemed to gleam in the light of the palace, a testament to her enduring strength. The palace was bustling with activity as the royal family prepared to receive a delegation of diplomats from a neighboring kingdom. Elsa and Anna were excited to meet the guests, and they spent hours primping and preening in front of the mirror, making sure they looked their best. Iduna smiled and helped them with their dresses, trying to hide her own sadness. As the guests arrived, Iduna put on a warm smile and greeted them with a gracious welcome. She was a master of diplomacy, and she knew just what to say and do to make everyone feel at ease. But despite her efforts, she couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness inside. The delegation was led by a suave and charming ambassador, who was accompanied by his wife and several attendants. They were followed by a group of merchants and traders, who were eager to negotiate trade agreements with the kingdom of Arendelle. As the day wore on, Iduna found herself attending to her duties as queen, meeting with the diplomats and listening to their proposals. She was efficient and effective, but her heart wasn't in it. She kept thinking about Agnarr, and wondering what he would have said or done in this situation. Meanwhile, Hans was settling into his role as a guest in the palace. He was charming and helpful, and the palace staff was grateful to have him around. He helped with the younger children, and even assisted with some of the administrative tasks. As the evening drew to a close, Iduna excused herself and retired to her chambers. She was tired and overwhelmed, and she needed some time to herself. She sat down on her bed, and let out a deep sigh, feeling the weight of her responsibilities as queen. Just then, there was a knock at the door. It was Hans, who had come to see if she needed anything. Iduna smiled, and invited him in. They sat down together, and talked for a while, discussing everything from the day's events to their hopes and dreams. As they talked, Iduna found herself feeling more at ease. Hans was a good listener, and he had a way of making her feel like she was the only person in the world. She laughed and smiled, and for a brief moment, she forgot about her troubles. But as the night wore on, Iduna realized that she couldn't stay in her chambers forever. She had duties to attend to, and a kingdom to run. She stood up, and thanked Hans for his company, and sent him back to his quarters. As she lay in bed that night, Iduna couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She had a sense of unease, a feeling that there were forces at work that she couldn't quite understand. She knew that she had to be careful, and that she had to protect her daughters and her kingdom at all costs. The next morning, Iduna woke up feeling refreshed and determined. She knew that she had a long day ahead of her, but she was ready to face whatever challenges came her way. She got dressed, and made her way to the throne room, where she would meet with her advisors and begin her day. As she sat down on her throne, Iduna felt a sense of resolve wash over her. She was the queen of Arendelle, and she would do whatever it took to protect her kingdom and her people. She looked around the room, and saw the familiar faces of her advisors and guards. They were all there to help her, and she was grateful for their support. With a newfound sense of determination, Iduna began her day, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
