The morning sunlight peeked through the blinds, casting a warm glow over the room. Ashley dragged herself out of bed, her body still weak from the previous night's ordeal. She had a big day ahead of her - her weekly check-up and fertility appointment. She made her way to the table, where Erica and Harry were already seated, sipping their coffee. "Morning, Ash," Erica said, concern etched on her face. "How are you feeling today?" Ashley forced a smile, trying to reassure her friend that she was okay. She took her vitamins, wincing at the bitter taste, and began to get dressed. Erica stood up, "I'll drive you today, okay?" Ashley nodded, grateful for the support. As they chatted on the way to the hospital, Erica couldn't help but tease Ashley about her pregnancy. "I can't believe you're 28 weeks pregnant now, Ashley," she said, smiling. "It feels like just yesterday we were finding out." Ashley laughed, "I know, I'm shocked too." Erica nodded, "We've picked some names, by the way." Ashley's eyes lit up, "Ooo, spill!" Erica grinned, "Mia or Abby - what do you think?" The conversation was light and carefree, but Ashley's nerves began to surface as they approached the hospital. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her anxiety. As they arrived at the doctor's office, Ashley turned to Erica, her voice barely above a whisper, "Wish me luck, Ash." Erica smiled and gave her a reassuring hug, "You got this, girl. I'll be right here waiting for you." Ashley took one last deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come, and walked into the office to receive her test results.
