**A New Addition**

Part 1

Meredith Grey sat in her living room, surrounded by the familiar comforts of her home. Her three-month-old daughter, Lilly Cristina Grey, lay sleeping in her crib, a tiny bundle of joy with a mop of dark hair and a smattering of freckles across her nose. Meredith couldn't help but smile as she gazed at her baby, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over her. As she sat there, a thought occurred to her. She had always thought that two children were enough, but lately, she'd been feeling...restless. Maybe it was the emptiness of the nursery, or the way Lilly's eyes sparkled when she cooed, but Meredith found herself wondering: what if she wanted another baby? She pushed the thought aside, telling herself she was being ridiculous. She was a surgeon, for goodness' sake! She didn't have time for another baby. But as she looked at Lilly, she couldn't shake the feeling. She glanced over at her husband, Derek, who was sitting on the couch, watching TV. "Hey, what are you thinking?" he asked, noticing her gaze. Meredith hesitated, unsure of how to broach the subject. "I was just thinking...maybe we should have another baby," she said, trying to sound casual. Derek's expression changed from relaxed to shocked. "What? Meredith, we just had Lilly! We're still adjusting to being parents to one baby, let alone two." Meredith nodded, anticipating his reaction. "I know, I know. But I just can't shake the feeling that I want another baby. And I think it would be amazing for Lilly to have a sibling." Derek sighed, rubbing his temples. "Meredith, we need to talk about this. We can't just rush into having another baby without thinking it through. What about our careers? What about our lives?" Meredith knew he was right, but a part of her was already imagining what it would be like to have another baby. She pictured herself holding a newborn in her arms, feeling that familiar rush of love and excitement. As they discussed the possibility of having another child, Meredith's mind began to wander to the practicalities of caring for a new baby alongside Lilly. She thought about how she would juggle her work at the hospital with childcare responsibilities, and how Derek would support her in this new venture. She envisioned lazy Sundays spent playing with her two children, and chaotic mornings getting them both ready for the day. The sound of Lilly stirring in her crib broke the silence. Meredith got up to tend to her, changing her diaper and feeding her a bottle. As she cared for her baby, she felt a sense of confidence and capability. She was a good mother, and she knew she could do it again. As she sat back down on the couch with Lilly in her arms, Derek put his arm around her. "We'll think about it, okay?" he said. "But for now, let's just enjoy Lilly and see where life takes us." Meredith smiled, feeling a sense of hope and possibility. She knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, and she was excited to see what the future held.
