**Chapter 1: The Streets and a Familiar Face**
Part 1
The sun beat down on the empty streets, casting a warm glow over the quiet neighborhood. Jay Bilzerian, a 13-year-old boy with olive brown skin and large, pretty brown eyes, walked aimlessly, his stomach growling with hunger. He had short, silky brown hair that spiked in the front, and his 5'1" frame seemed to blend into the shadows. Jay had been on his own for what felt like hours, searching for something to eat. This wasn't the first time his parents had left him to fend for himself, and he had learned to rely on his wits to survive. As he turned a corner, Jay spotted a familiar house - the Birch's residence. He had been to their house a few times with Nick, his friend who was currently away on spring break. Jay's eyes lit up with hope as he approached the house, wondering if anyone was home. Inside, the Birch family was busy with their daily routines. Mr. and Mrs. Birch were in the kitchen, making lunch, while Leah and Judd were in the living room, engrossed in their own activities. Leah, a popular 16-year-old with long, straight blonde hair and blue eyes, was reading a book, while Judd, a 17-year-old with short, black hair that faded to blue, was staring out the window, his greenish-grey eyes fixed on something outside. Just then, Mr. and Mrs. Birch walked out into the backyard, chatting about their plans for the day. As they approached the pool, they spotted Jay walking up the street, looking lost and hungry. Mrs. Birch immediately took notice and nudged her husband. "Look, dear, it's Jay Bilzerian. What is he doing all alone on the streets?" she asked, concern etched on her face. Mr. Birch followed her gaze and frowned. "I have no idea. Let's go find out." The couple walked towards Jay, who looked up and spotted them. His eyes widened as he quickened his pace, a mix of emotions on his face. "Jay, dear, what's wrong?" Mrs. Birch asked, as they approached him. "Where are your parents?" Jay hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "They...they left me. They're on vacation, I think." Mr. Birch's expression softened. "Well, you can't stay on the streets, Jay. Why don't you come in and stay with us for a bit? We'll figure out what to do about your parents later." Jay's face lit up with gratitude. "Really? Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Birch." As they walked towards the house, Jay didn't notice Judd watching him from the window, a curious expression on his face. Judd's eyes roamed over Jay's features, taking in his beauty. He seemed transfixed, his gaze lingering on Jay's brown eyes and silky hair. Meanwhile, inside the house, Nick was sulking on the couch, his blue shirt and white coat a stark contrast to his gloomy mood. He had just received a call from his friend, and he was not happy about sharing his home with Jay. "Great, just what I need," Nick muttered to himself, scowling at the thought of Jay staying with them for the week.
