"Chaos Erupts"
Part 35
As Ashley handed Jackson his favorite pasta, she couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over her. They had finally had a calm and peaceful dinner together, and Jackson seemed to be in a better mood. "Are you okay, sweetie?" she asked, smiling at her son as she handed him the steaming plate of pasta. Just then, the door slammed shut, and Ashley's heart sank. She knew that sound, that angry energy, and it spelled trouble. Gerald walked into the room, his face twisted in a scowl, and his eyes blazing with anger. "Gerald, what's wrong?" Ashley asked, trying to sound calm, but her voice trembling slightly. But Gerald didn't answer. Instead, he strode over to Ashley and grabbed her by the hair, yanking her backwards. Ashley cried out in pain as he pulled her towards him, her scalp burning. Jackson, sensing his mother's distress, began to cry, his eyes wide with fear. "Mommy!" he wailed, dropping his plate of pasta on the floor. Gerald's anger seemed to escalate at the sound of Jackson's crying, and he punched Ashley in the face, sending her stumbling backwards. Ashley tried to protect her stomach, but Gerald was relentless. He kicked her, his foot connecting with her abdomen, right where her baby bump was. Ashley doubled over, gasping in pain, as Gerald's anger seemed to boil over. Jackson, terrified, screamed and cried, "Mommy! Mommy!" over and over, his small body shaking with fear. The room was chaotic, with Jackson crying, and Ashley trying to catch her breath. Gerald's anger seemed to fill the space, making it hard to breathe. Ashley knew she had to protect her son, and her unborn baby, but she was at a loss for what to do. As Gerald's anger raged on, Ashley knew she had to think fast, to find a way to keep her family safe. But for now, she was trapped, at the mercy of Gerald's violent outburst.
