Chapter 26: Freedom's Call
Part 26
The sound of shattering glass and crunching wood filled the air as the police stormed into the kitchen, their guns drawn and eyes scanning the room for any signs of threat. Sangwoo, who had been calmly cooking breakfast, spun around with a look of shock and anger on his face. "Freeze! Hands up!" one of the officers yelled, taking a step forward. Sangwoo's eyes darted around the room, and for a moment, it seemed like he was considering making a run for it. But then, he seemed to realize the futility of the situation and slowly raised his hands. The officers moved in, surrounding him and reading him his rights. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." As the drama unfolded downstairs, Jason's ears were glued to the door, his heart pounding with excitement and fear. He couldn't believe it. Was it really happening? Were the police really here to rescue him? Just as Jason was starting to lose hope, he heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs. The door creaked open, and Jason's eyes met those of Silky and Adapt, who were accompanied by a police officer. "Jason, it's us," Silky said, his voice filled with relief. "We're here to get you." Jason's eyes welled up with tears as he took in the sight of his friends. He had never been so happy to see them. The officer stepped forward, his eyes scanning the room. "Sir, can you move away from the door? We need to make sure you're okay." Jason nodded, still trying to process the situation. He slowly backed away from the door, his eyes fixed on Silky and Adapt. As the officer approached him, Jason felt a sense of safety wash over him. He was going to be okay. He was going to be free. Silky and Adapt rushed forward, their faces etched with concern. "Dude, we're so glad we found you," Adapt said, pulling Jason into a hug. Jason felt a lump form in his throat as he hugged his friends back. He had never felt so grateful to see them. The officer handed Jason a blanket. "Here, sir, put this around you. We're going to get you out of here and make sure you're safe." Jason nodded, wrapping the blanket around his shivering body. He felt a sense of peace wash over him as he looked at his friends. He was going to be okay. As they made their way downstairs, Jason caught a glimpse of Sangwoo being led away in handcuffs. The man who had kidnapped him, who had hurt him, was finally going to face justice. Jason's heart swelled with gratitude as he looked at Silky and Adapt. They had come for him. They had saved him. The three of them walked out of the house, into the bright sunlight, and Jason felt a sense of freedom that he had never thought he'd experience again.
