"Unconditional Devotion"
Part 7
As they walked out of the room, Maya couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. She had no idea what Brad was going to say, but she knew that it was going to be intense. Megan's angry eyes still lingered in her mind, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was in trouble. Brad led her to the living room, and they sat down on the couch together. He took a deep breath, his eyes locked onto hers as he began to speak. "Maya, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were different," he said, his voice low and husky. "I couldn't explain it, but there was something about you that drew me in. And as I got to know you, I realized that it wasn't just your beauty or your intelligence that captivated me. It was your heart, your soul, your everything." Maya felt a flutter in her chest as Brad's words washed over her. She had never heard him speak like this before, and she wasn't sure how to react. "I've been obsessed with you from the start," Brad continued, his eyes burning with intensity. "I know it sounds crazy, but I couldn't help it. I would do anything to be with you, to make you happy. And when I saw you with him, with that guy at the club...I lost my mind. I wanted to rip him apart, to protect you from him." Maya's eyes widened as she listened to Brad's words. She had no idea that he felt this way, that he was so deeply invested in her. "I know that I haven't been the easiest person to be around," Brad said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I've pushed you away, tried to keep you at arm's length. But it's only because I'm scared, Maya. I'm scared of losing you, of hurting you. But I couldn't help myself. I had to be with you, to make you mine." Maya's heart was racing as she listened to Brad's confession. She had never felt this way about anyone before, and she wasn't sure if she was ready to reciprocate his feelings. But as she looked into his eyes, she saw something there that gave her pause. It was a deep and abiding love, a love that seemed to consume him. "Maya, I love you," Brad said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I love you more than anything in this world. And I know that it sounds crazy, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy." Megan's angry face flashed into Maya's mind, and she knew that she had to consider the consequences of her actions. But as she looked at Brad, she knew that she couldn't deny her feelings for him any longer. "I...I don't know what to say," Maya stammered, her heart racing with emotion. Brad's face softened, and he pulled her into his arms. "You don't have to say anything," he whispered, his lips brushing against her ear. "Just be with me, Maya. That's all I need."
