"Trapped in a Nightmare"
Part 23
Two years had passed since Ashley's last child was born, and she was still trapped in this living hell. She lay on the cot, her body swollen and round with pregnancy, her mind numb with despair. She was six months pregnant with twins, and her body was already straining under the weight of her growing belly. Damien, her two-year-old son, was playing with blocks on the floor, his piercing blue eyes fixed on her as he babbled excitedly. Lexi, her 15-month-old daughter, was crawling around on the floor, getting into everything and putting everything in her mouth. Adam and Ella, her six-month-old twins, were sleeping in their cribs, their tiny chests rising and falling with each breath. Ashley's heart swelled with love for her children, but her joy was tempered by the knowledge that she was trapped, and that Gerald was still in control. Gerald walked into the room, a smug smile spreading across his face as he gazed at Ashley's swollen belly. "You're going to make me another set of babies, Ashley," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "And I'll get to watch you suffer through it all again." Ashley felt a wave of hatred wash over her, but she kept her emotions in check. She knew that Gerald loved the control he had over her, and she was determined not to give him the satisfaction of seeing her break. Gerald walked over to the cribs and gazed at the twins, his eyes filled with a twisted sense of pride. "They're going to be just like their mother," he said, his voice low and menacing. "Beautiful, and broken." Ashley felt a chill run down her spine as Gerald's eyes locked onto hers. She knew that he was enjoying this, that he was reveling in the control he had over her. As the day wore on, Ashley was subjected to the usual routine of meals and chores, all under Gerald's watchful eye. She was forced to clean the house, cook meals, and take care of the children, all while her body struggled to cope with the demands of pregnancy. Damien and Lexi were clingy and demanding, and Ashley was exhausted. But she knew that she had to keep going, for the sake of her children. As night began to fall, Gerald came to her, his eyes hungry and predatory. Ashley knew what was coming, and she steeled herself for the worst. She was trapped, and she had to find a way to survive. But as she looked into Gerald's eyes, she knew that she was running out of time. She was running out of hope. And she wondered if she would ever be free.
