A Glimpse of the Past
Part 39
As Taehyun sat on his couch, surrounded by the familiar comforts of his gaming console and TV, he couldn't shake off the feeling of restlessness that had been growing inside him. The days of solitude had been enjoyable, but they had also given him too much time to think. He thought about Yeonjun, and how much he missed him. He thought about his own progress, and how far he had come. As he gazed around his cluttered apartment, his eyes landed on a small, almost imperceptible speck on the coffee table. It was a tiny remnant of a substance he had used in the past, something he had thought he had left behind. The sight of it sent a shiver down his spine, and for a moment, he felt like he was transported back to a time he thought he had long forgotten. The memory of the substance's effects flooded his mind, and Taehyun felt a pang of nostalgia wash over him. It was a fleeting glimpse of a life he had once known, a life he had worked hard to leave behind. He remembered the highs and the lows, the thrill of the rush and the crushing weight of the comedown. He remembered the sense of escape it had given him, and the hell it had brought him. As he sat there, frozen in time, the speck seemed to grow larger, more prominent. It was as if it was calling to him, tempting him to come back to a life he had thought he had left behind. Taehyun felt his heart racing, his palms growing sweaty. He knew he shouldn't give in, but a part of him was tempted. A part of him wondered what it would be like to go back, to feel that rush again. He thought about Yeonjun, and how much he had meant to him. He thought about the progress he had made, and how far he had come. He thought about the people who cared about him, and how they would be hurt if he fell back into his old ways. The thought was enough to snap him out of his trance-like state, and Taehyun took a deep breath, trying to shake off the temptation. But as he looked around his apartment, he couldn't shake off the feeling that the past was calling to him, whispering in his ear, tempting him to come back. He knew he had to be strong, to resist the temptation. But for how long? Only time would tell.
