Rebirth from the Ashes

Part 2

Weeks had passed, or so I assumed, as I slowly emerged from the depths of my coma. My mind was foggy, and my body felt heavy, as if weighed down by a mountain range. I tried to move, but my limbs were still, unresponsive. A wave of panic washed over me as I realized I couldn't see anything. I was completely blind in my right eye, and my left eye was 99% blind, a cruel reminder of the burns that had ravaged my body. As I lay there, I became aware of a presence beside me. Hange's gentle voice whispered in my ear, "My love, can you hear me?" His words were laced with concern, and his warm breath sent a shiver down my spine. I tried to respond, but my voice was barely a whisper. Hange's hands gently grasped mine, and I felt a surge of comfort at his touch. He had been by my side throughout my ordeal, and I was grateful for his love and care. I squeezed his hands, trying to convey that I was awake. Hange's face lit up with a radiant smile, and he leaned in close. "You're awake, my love," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "I've been waiting for you to come back to me." I tried to speak, but my throat was parched and dry. Hange quickly grabbed a glass of water and helped me take a sip. The cool liquid soothed my throat, and I was able to muster up a weak voice. "H-Hange?" I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm here, my love," he replied, his voice filled with relief. "You're safe now. You're going to be okay." I nodded, or at least, I tried to. My head felt heavy, and I wasn't sure if I had the strength to move it. Hange noticed my attempt and gently nodded for me. As I lay there, I became aware of my surroundings. I was in a hospital room, surrounded by beeping machines and sterile equipment. But I was also surrounded by Hange's magic. His dragon energy had created a barrier around us, a shield that kept out unwanted eyes. Hange's hands continued to hold mine, and I felt a sense of comfort in his touch. I knew I had a long road to recovery ahead of me, but with Hange by my side, I felt a sense of hope. "How long have I been asleep?" I asked, my voice still weak. Hange's expression turned somber. "You've been in a coma for weeks, my love. But you're awake now, and that's all that matters." I nodded, trying to process the information. Weeks had passed, and I had no idea what had happened during that time. But with Hange by my side, I knew I could face whatever challenges lay ahead. As I lay there, I realized that I had been reborn from the ashes of my old life. I had been given a second chance, and I was determined to make the most of it. With Hange's love and support, I knew I could overcome anything.
