Desperate Escape

Part 281

"Let me go!" I screamed, trying to wriggle free from Dabi's grasp. But he only tightened his grip, pulling me closer towards him. I stumbled, my feet scraping against the floor as he yanked me down the hallway. Shigaraki strode alongside us, his eyes gleaming with amusement. The sound of sirens and shouting heroes grew louder, but Dabi didn't seem to be bothered. He pulled me through the crowded hallways, dodging and weaving through the chaos. I tried to struggle, but he held me fast, his arm wrapped around my waist like a vice. As we turned a corner, I caught sight of a stairwell leading down to the parking garage. Dabi seemed to sense my gaze, and he pulled me towards it. We thundered down the stairs, our footsteps echoing off the walls. Shigaraki kept pace with us, his eyes fixed on me. "You're not going to escape that easily, Vesper-chan," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You're coming with us, one way or another." I kicked out at Dabi, trying to break free, but he only laughed. "You think you can get away from me?" he said, his breath hot against my ear. "I've got you right where I want you." As we reached the parking garage, I saw a black van waiting for us, its engine revving. Dabi tossed me into the backseat, and Shigaraki followed, his eyes never leaving mine. The doors slammed shut behind us, and the van sped away from the curb, weaving through the traffic. The heroes were hot on our tail, their vehicles screeching and swerving as they gave chase. But Shigaraki's crew seemed to have a plan, and the van expertly evaded their pursuers, disappearing into the crowded streets. I glared at Shigaraki, my heart pounding with fear and anger. "You're not going to get away with this," I spat, trying to keep my voice steady. Shigaraki just smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, but I think we will," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "You're going to be a very valuable asset to us, Vesper-chan." Dabi chuckled, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "You're going to love it where we're taking you," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. I knew I had to think fast, or I'd be trapped forever. But for now, I was at their mercy, and that thought sent a chill down my spine.
