**Chapter 60: Fractured Threads**

Part 60

The fluorescent lights of the counseling office seemed to hum in sync with Oikawa's racing thoughts as he guided Kageyama out of the room. The tension between them was palpable, and Oikawa couldn't shake the feeling that they were standing at the edge of a precipice, staring into an abyss of unknown depths. As they walked down the hallway, Kageyama's silence was oppressive, weighing heavily on Oikawa's shoulders. He tried to think of something to say, anything to break the silence, but his mind was a blank. It wasn't until they stepped out into the cool evening air that Kageyama finally spoke up. "Oikawa," he said, his voice low and rough. "I need some time alone." Oikawa hesitated, unsure of what to do. He wanted to be there for Kageyama, to support him through this difficult time, but he also knew that sometimes people needed space. "Okay," he said finally. "But promise me you'll be okay." Kageyama nodded, his eyes avoiding Oikawa's. "I'll be fine." Oikawa wasn't convinced, but he knew he had to trust Kageyama. He watched as Kageyama walked away, feeling a sense of helplessness wash over him. As he stood there, lost in thought, Oikawa's phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, expecting a text from one of his friends or teammates, but instead, he found a message from an unknown number. "The threads are fraying," the message read. "Be careful." Oikawa's heart skipped a beat as he realized that the message was somehow connected to Kageyama's earlier words. What did it mean, and who was sending him these cryptic messages? He thought back to the counseling office, to the way Kageyama's eyes had glazed over, to the words he had muttered. The threads. It was all connected, Oikawa was sure of it. But how? As he pondered the question, Oikawa noticed a figure watching him from across the street. It was a girl with long, dark hair and piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a black coat, and she looked out of place among the evening crowds. Oikawa felt a shiver run down his spine as the girl started to walk towards him. There was something about her that seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. "Can I help you?" he asked, trying to sound calm. The girl smiled, her eyes glinting in the fading light. "I'm here to help you understand," she said. "The threads, Kageyama, everything. Are you ready to learn the truth?" Oikawa hesitated, unsure of what to do. But something about the girl's words resonated with him. He nodded, and the girl started to walk towards him, her eyes locked on his. As they walked together, Oikawa felt a sense of trepidation building inside him. What secrets was he about to uncover? And how would they change everything he thought he knew about Kageyama, about himself, and about the threads that bound them all together?
