"Taking the Next Step"

Part 28

I snuggled deeper into Erwin's arms, feeling his warmth and love surround me. As we sat there in comfortable silence, I couldn't help but think about our conversation earlier. I had been wanting to tell Captain Levi about us, but I had put it off for too long. I knew I had to be honest with him, but for now, I just wanted to focus on Erwin and us. Erwin shifted slightly, his eyes locked on mine. "What's on your mind, Kenzy?" he asked, his voice low and gentle. I took a deep breath, my heart racing with excitement. "You know what, baby?" I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I want to take our relationship to another level." Erwin's expression turned serious, his eyes searching mine. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice cautious. I smiled, feeling a surge of excitement. "I mean, I want to move in with you," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "I want to wake up every morning with you by my side, to cook dinner together, to build a life together." Erwin's face softened, his eyes filling with love and adoration. "I'd like that," he said, his voice low and husky. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, followed by a surge of happiness. "Really?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Erwin nodded, his lips curling up into a smile. "Really," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Kenzy. I want to wake up every morning with you, to go to bed every night with you, to build a life together." I felt my heart swell with emotion, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. "I want that too," I said, my voice shaking with emotion. Erwin pulled me closer, his lips brushing against mine. "I love you, Kenzy," he whispered, his voice filled with passion. I wrapped my arms around him, deepening the kiss. "I love you too," I replied, my voice barely audible. As we kissed, I knew that I had made the right decision. I was ready to take the next step with Erwin, to build a life together, and to see where our love would take us. But as we pulled back from the kiss, I couldn't help but think about Captain Levi. I knew I still had to have that conversation with him, and I wasn't looking forward to it. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. Erwin's eyes locked on mine, his expression serious. "You know, I think we should talk about Captain Levi," he said, his voice low and gentle. I nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. "I know," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I've been putting it off for too long." Erwin's expression turned encouraging. "You should be honest with him," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "You deserve to be happy, Kenzy, and if that means being with me, then so be it." I smiled, feeling a surge of gratitude towards Erwin. "Thank you," I said, my voice filled with emotion. Erwin pulled me closer, his arms wrapping around me like a shield. "I'm here for you, Kenzy," he said, his voice low and gentle. "No matter what happens, I'll be here for you."
