Chapter 3: Room Assignments
Part 3
The group decided to take a break from the video shoot and discuss the room assignments. They had all been given a tour of the penthouse and its various rooms, and now it was time to figure out who would stay where. "Well, Davis should get the biggest room, since he helped start AMP," Agent said, his American accent smooth and calm. "I agree," Chris added, his raspy voice chiming in. "He's been with us since the beginning." The others nodded in agreement, and Davis smiled, looking pleased. "Thanks, guys. I appreciate it." As they continued to discuss the room assignments, Kai suddenly spoke up. "I think we should let Ray decide who gets which room." Ray, who had been quietly observing the conversation, looked surprised. "Me? Why me?" Kai smiled, his brown eyes crinkling at the corners. "Because you're our special guest, and we want to make sure you're comfortable." Ray's face lit up with a smile, and he nodded eagerly. "Okay, sure." As they continued to discuss the room assignments, Kai suddenly brought up a surprise. "I don't want Ray sleeping in a room with the others," he said, his voice firm. The others looked at him in surprise, and Fanum raised an eyebrow. "What? Why not?" Kai shrugged, his long dreadlocks bouncing with the motion. "I just don't want him to be cranky because he couldn't sleep. I want him to be comfortable." Duke looked at him curiously, his deep voice smooth. "You're acting weird, Kai. What's going on?" Kai's face darkened, and he looked away. "I'm just looking out for Ray, that's all." The others exchanged skeptical glances, but they didn't push the issue. Instead, they continued to discuss the room assignments, with Kai insisting that Ray stay with him. Finally, Kai turned to Ray and said, "You can sleep in my room. It's got a big bed, and you'll be comfortable." Ray looked at him uncertainly, but Kai just smiled and nodded. "It's okay, I want you to stay with me." The others looked at each other, surprised by Kai's suggestion. They had never seen him offer to share a room with anyone before, let alone someone like Ray. As they finished the room assignments, Kai turned to the group and said, "Let's take a break and grab some snacks. I'm starving." The others nodded, and they all headed out of the room, chatting and laughing. Ray, however, looked a bit uncertain, and Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. He had never shared a room with anyone before, and he wasn't sure what to expect. But he knew one thing - he wanted to make sure Ray was comfortable, and he was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen.
