Chapter 8: A New Beginning

Part 8

As they walked hand in hand, the sound of their footsteps echoed through the hallway, growing louder with each step. Kenzy felt a sense of excitement and nervousness building up inside her. She knew that telling the King and Erwin about her relationship with Levi wouldn't be easy, but she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. As they approached the King's chambers, Kenzy could feel her heart pounding in her chest. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, but her nerves were still on edge. Levi seemed to sense her tension and squeezed her hand reassuringly. "Hey, it's going to be okay," he whispered, his voice low and soothing. "We're in this together, always." Kenzy smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Levi. She knew that she couldn't have made it this far without him. When they arrived at the King's chambers, they found Erwin standing outside, chatting with one of the guards. He looked up and caught sight of Kenzy and Levi, a look of curiosity crossing his face. "Ah, Kenzy, Levi, what brings you two here?" he asked, his voice friendly but with a hint of suspicion. Kenzy took a deep breath and launched into the explanation. "Erwin, we need to talk to the King about something important." Erwin's eyes narrowed slightly, but he nodded and stepped aside, allowing them to enter the King's chambers. Inside, the King was sitting on his throne, a look of interest on his face. "Ah, Kenzy, Levi, what is it that you need to speak to me about?" he asked, his voice warm but authoritative. Kenzy and Levi exchanged a glance, and then Levi spoke up. "Your Majesty, Kenzy and I... we've decided to get married." The King's expression changed, a look of surprise crossing his face. "Married?" he repeated, his voice raised. "You two are barely out of your teenage years. Are you sure this is what you want?" Kenzy felt a surge of defensiveness, but Levi placed a calming hand on her arm. "We've thought this through, Your Majesty," he said, his voice confident. "We're ready to spend the rest of our lives together." The King looked at them for a long moment, then nodded. "Very well, I won't stand in your way. But I do have one condition." Kenzy and Levi exchanged a nervous glance. "What is it, Your Majesty?" Kenzy asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The King smiled, a twinkle in his eye. "I want you two to help me with a special task. A task that requires great courage and loyalty. Are you up for the challenge?" Kenzy and Levi exchanged a glance, and then nodded in unison. "We're in," Levi said, his voice firm. The King nodded, a look of satisfaction on his face. "Excellent. I'll brief you on the details later. For now, let's just say that this task will test your love and loyalty to each other, and to our kingdom." Kenzy felt a shiver run down her spine as she looked at Levi. She knew that their love would be put to the test, but she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, as long as Levi was by her side. As they left the King's chambers, Kenzy turned to Levi and smiled. "We're in this together, always," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Levi smiled back, his eyes shining with love and adoration. "Always," he repeated, pulling her into a gentle kiss. Their lips touched, and Kenzy felt a rush of emotions. She knew that their love would conquer all, no matter what challenges lay ahead.
