A Growing Concern
Part 2
Several weeks had passed since the mysterious illness had begun to spread throughout the kingdom of Hyrule. Link had been working tirelessly to find the source, and so far, he had made little progress. Despite the lack of results, he remained determined to save the kingdom and its people. One day, after a long morning of investigating, Link decided to take a break and grab some lunch in the castle courtyard. He sat down at a nearby table and enjoyed a simple meal of bread and cheese. However, shortly after finishing his lunch, he began to feel a rumbling in his stomach. As he stood up to excuse himself, Zelda noticed that he looked a bit off. "Link, is everything all right?" she asked, concern etched on her face. Link smiled reassuringly. "I'm fine, Your Highness. I just think I might have eaten something that doesn't agree with me." He chuckled. "I have a bit of a sensitive stomach, you know." Zelda's expression didn't change, and she looked worried. "Maybe you should see one of the castle's healers, just in case," she suggested. Link waved his hand dismissively. "No, no, it's nothing to worry about. I'm sure I'll be fine." However, as the day wore on, Link began to feel worse. He started to experience diarrhea, and his stomach was cramping with painful spasms. He tried to brush it off as a minor issue, but deep down, he knew that something wasn't right. The next morning, Link woke up feeling a bit better, but as he was getting dressed, he noticed a strange numbness in his back. It was a tingling sensation, like pins and needles, but it was persistent and uncomfortable. He tried to shake it off, thinking it was just a side effect of the previous day's stomach issues. But then, as he was checking his armor, he noticed a small rash on his lower left leg. It was a red, itchy patch, and it looked... unusual. Link's heart began to sink as he showed the rash to Zelda. "Link, this doesn't look good," Zelda said, her voice laced with worry. "That rash looks similar to the symptoms of the mysterious illness that's been spreading through the kingdom." Link's expression turned grave. "You don't think...?" he started to ask, but Zelda cut him off. "We need to get you to the healer right away," she said, her eyes scanning the room for Impa. "This could be more serious than we thought." As Impa rushed in with a concerned look on her face, Link couldn't help but wonder if he had been exposed to the illness after all. And if so, what did that mean for the kingdom, and for his own life?
