**Chapter 11: The Hidden Truth**
Part 11
Murie's eyes scanned the campus, her mind preoccupied with the cryptic message on Kaito's phone - "Red-Handed Fate." The words seemed to haunt her, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off about Kaito's family. As she walked to the library, she stumbled upon a hidden alleyway that she had never noticed before. The narrow passage was lined with old buildings, and the air was thick with the smell of dust and decay. Curiosity getting the better of her, Murie decided to explore the alleyway. The sound of her footsteps echoed off the walls as she made her way deeper into the passage. She noticed that the buildings seemed to be abandoned, and the windows were boarded up. Suddenly, she heard a faint noise coming from one of the buildings. It sounded like someone was rummaging through the trash. Murie's heart skipped a beat as she approached the building. She peered through a broken window and saw a figure huddled over a dumpster. As she looked closer, she realized it was Kaito. He was digging through the trash, his eyes scanning the contents with a look of desperation. Murie's instincts told her to approach him cautiously. She didn't want to startle him. As she entered the building, Kaito looked up, his eyes locking onto hers. For a moment, they just stared at each other. "What are you doing here?" Murie asked, trying to sound calm. Kaito's expression was sheepish. "Just looking for something," he muttered. Murie's eyes narrowed. "What is it?" Kaito sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "It's just some old documents. I needed to get rid of them." Murie's curiosity was piqued. She walked closer to Kaito, her eyes scanning the contents of the dumpster. That's when she saw it - a folder with a familiar name on it: Ryker. Murie's heart skipped a beat as she realized who Ryker was - Kaito's father, a notorious hitman. She felt a surge of adrenaline as she pieced together the clues. "Kaito, what's going on?" Murie asked, her voice firm. Kaito's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, Murie saw a flash of fear. "I...I can explain," he stammered. Murie's eyes narrowed. "Explain what?" Kaito took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm an assassin," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "My father trained me to be one. And my next target is...Akane Nakamura." Murie's world came crashing down around her. She felt like she had been punched in the gut. Akane was a fellow student, and the CEO's daughter. She couldn't believe that Kaito was trained to kill her. The revelation hit Murie like a ton of bricks. She stumbled backward, her mind reeling with the implications. Kaito's eyes followed her, filled with a mix of fear and desperation. As Murie turned to leave, Kaito called out to her. "Murie, wait!" But Murie didn't look back. She ran out of the alleyway, her heart heavy with the weight of Kaito's secrets. She knew that she had to confront him, but a part of her was scared of what she might find out. Was Kaito truly capable of killing Akane? And what did he plan to do now that she knew the truth?
