"A New Life in a Strange Mansion"

Part 18

As the minutes ticked by, Vanitas' staff began to arrive with the flowers he had ordered. They entered the grand foyer, their eyes widening in shock as they took in Shizuo's rugged appearance. Shizuo, still feeling uneasy and trapped, stood tall, his arms crossed over his chest. His eyes narrowed, and his jaw clenched, giving him a fierce and intimidating look. The staff's eyes darted to Vanitas, then back to Shizuo, their faces pale with surprise. One of them, seemingly the leader, stepped forward, a bouquet of flowers in his hands. "Sir, here are the flowers," he said, his voice trembling slightly as he handed the flowers to Vanitas. Vanitas beamed with excitement, taking the flowers from the staff member. "Thank you, thank you so much," he said, his eyes shining with happiness. He gave the staff a generous tip, telling them to take the day off and enjoy a well-deserved vacation. "I want to spend some quality time with my new wife," he said, his gaze affectionate as he looked at Shizuo. The staff nodded hastily, still looking shocked, and quickly made their exit. The chef, who had been watching from a distance, approached Vanitas and bowed. "The food is ready, sir," he said. Vanitas turned to Shizuo, his face alight with excitement. "How is the food?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. Shizuo looked down at his plate, his expression unreadable. He took a bite, his jaw working as he chewed. "It... it's good, thanks Vanitas," Shizuo said gruffly, his voice laced with annoyance. Vanitas' face lit up with a bright smile. He leaned in, his lips brushing against Shizuo's in a gentle kiss. Shizuo's eyes widened in surprise, and he felt a surge of anger at the sudden display of affection. Vanitas pulled back, his cheeks flushing with happiness. "I'm about to show you the pools now," he said, his voice bubbling with excitement. "It's really wonderful." Shizuo raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. He didn't want to see the pools, but he knew that Vanitas wouldn't take no for an answer. He pushed his chair back, standing up as Vanitas took his hand. "Let's go," Shizuo said, his voice low and menacing. Vanitas didn't seem to notice, too caught up in his own excitement to read the warning signs. He led Shizuo out of the dining room, his smile still plastered on his face. Shizuo followed, his eyes scanning the surroundings, searching for an escape route. For now, he was trapped in this strange mansion with a man who seemed determined to make him his wife.
