Harnessing the Elements

Part 10

Kenzy stood in the center of her room, her eyes fixed on the small pool of water that had formed on the floor in front of her. She had been practicing her powers for weeks now, and water bending was proving to be one of the most challenging yet fascinating abilities she possessed. With a flick of her wrist, she sent a tiny wave rippling through the water, watching as it responded to her every command. As she focused her energy, the water began to take shape, forming into a series of intricate patterns that danced across the floor. Kenzy's breathing slowed, her senses heightened as she became one with the element. She could feel the water's viscosity, its temperature, and its every movement responding to her will. Suddenly, a thought occurred to her - what if she could use her powers to help her understand Levi's words? Had he been trying to tell her something, or was it just his possessive nature that had driven him to claim her as his own? She pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on her training. The water responded to her distraction, splashing and churning in a chaotic mess. Kenzy laughed, her concentration broken. She took a deep breath and tried again, this time visualizing a clear image of a calm lake on a summer's day. The water responded, smoothing out into a glassy surface that reflected the dim light of her room. Just as she was getting into the zone, there was a knock at the door. Kenzy hesitated, her eyes darting towards the entrance. She didn't want to interrupt her training, but she also didn't want to be rude. "Come in," she called out, her voice firm. The door creaked open, and Erwin poked his head inside. "Hey, I was looking for you earlier, but I guess I found you now," he said, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. Kenzy gestured to the pool of water, which was now forming into a series of delicate, swirling patterns. "I'm in the middle of something," she said, trying to convey that she wasn't to be disturbed. Erwin's eyes widened in fascination as he took in the sight. "Water bending, huh? I've never seen you do that before," he said, stepping closer to get a better look. Kenzy felt a twinge of self-consciousness, but she didn't stop her training. Instead, she let Erwin watch, showing off her skills as she shaped the water into a series of increasingly complex forms. As she worked, she couldn't help but wonder if Levi had ever seen her like this, fully in control of her powers. The door creaked shut behind Erwin, and he leaned against it, watching her with an intensity that made Kenzy's skin prickle. For a moment, she forgot about the water, forgot about her training, and forgot about everything except the two people in the room with her. But only for a moment. With a final flourish, Kenzy sent the water swirling up into the air, where it hovered in a glittering sphere before dissipating into droplets that rained back down onto the floor. She turned to Erwin, a grin on her face. "Satisfied?" she asked, her eyes sparkling. Erwin chuckled, pushing off from the door to walk closer to her. "More than," he said, his voice low. "You're getting really good at this, Kenzy." Kenzy shrugged, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. "Thanks to you, I guess," she said, referencing the countless hours Erwin had spent helping her hone her skills. Erwin's expression turned serious, and he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "You're a natural," he said, his touch sending shivers down her spine. "But I think there's more to your powers than just bending elements. There's something inside you, Kenzy, something that could change everything." Kenzy's heart skipped a beat as she met Erwin's gaze, unsure of what he meant, but certain that he was right. There was something inside her, something that was waiting to be unleashed. And with Levi's words still echoing in her mind, she couldn't help but wonder what the future held.
