"A Solar System in Mourning"

Part 7

Sol's radiant energy seemed to falter as it gazed upon the devastated form of Earth, its once vibrant blue and green hues now reduced to a smoldering, fiery gray. The sun's usual warmth and light felt dull and lifeless, as if its own essence was being drained by the tragedy. Sol felt devastated, its heart heavy with sorrow, as it struggled to come to terms with the destruction of one of its beloved planets. Luna, the gentle Moon, was on the verge of a breakdown. "I... I don't know if I can go on," she stammered, her voice trembling with despair. "If Earth is really gone, consumed by fire and ash... I'll suffer from depression, I'm sure of it." Her words hung in the air, a poignant expression of the grief that threatened to overwhelm her. Sol's energy stirred, and it reached out to check Earth's temperature and search for any signs of life. But there were none. Earth's temperature was extremely high, and Sol's advanced senses couldn't predict a stable reading. The sun's worst fears were confirmed: Earth, the vibrant and thriving planet, was indeed gone. With a heavy heart, Sol turned to Luna and the other planets. "I'm afraid... Earth's gone," Sol said, its voice barely above a whisper. "There's no life, no signs of recovery. It's... it's over." Luna's fragile composure shattered, and she let out a blood-curdling scream. "No! No, this can't be! My companion, my friend... Where is she? I want her back!" Her anguished cry echoed through the solar system, a heartbreaking expression of her loss. Mercury, the small and swift planet, quickly moved to comfort Luna. It enveloped her in a warm, gentle hug, trying to soothe her pain. "It's okay, Luna. We're here for you," Mercury said, its voice soft and calming. Venus, the veiled planet, covered her face with her hands and sobbed softly, her body shaking with grief. Mars, the red planet, stood frozen, venting out his sadness in a series of anguished sighs. Saturn, the ringed beauty, broke down in tears, its usually robust form now weak and fragile. Jupiter, the gas giant, quickly came to its friend's side, wrapping Saturn in a warm hug as it, too, cried. Uranus, the tilted planet, simply stared down at the stars, its expression a mask of sorrow. Neptune, the icy giant, wrapped its arms around Uranus, sharing in its friend's emotional pain. As the solar system mourned, Sol quietly cried, its radiant energy dwindling to a faint glow. The sun felt so down, so lonely, as if its own light was being extinguished by the tragedy. The loss of Earth had left a gaping hole in the solar system, a wound that would take time to heal.
