The fluorescent lights of the high school classroom flickered to life, illuminating the rows of students settling into their seats for another day of Advanced Placement English. Eric Walker, a charismatic and brooding English teacher, stood at the front of the room, scribbling notes on the whiteboard with a mixture of disinterest and distraction.
