Chapter 4: Lucas's Intentions

Part 4

The sun-kissed streets were a cruel contrast to the tension brewing inside Lucas as he stood outside Dorothy's house, his eyes fixed on the door. He had always been a man with a plan, and today was no exception. His plan was to hurt Dorothy, to make her pay for what she had done to him. The memories of their past still lingered, a festering wound that refused to heal. As he waited for the perfect moment to strike, Lucas's mind wandered back to the days when he and Dorothy were together. They had been high school sweethearts, full of life and hope for the future. But as time went on, their relationship began to unravel. The fights, the arguments, the tears – it all took its toll. They drifted apart, and eventually, they divorced. But Lucas's anger and resentment had never fully dissipated. He had always felt like Dorothy had wronged him, like she had taken something from him that he could never get back. And now, he was determined to make her pay. Taking a deep breath, Lucas pushed open the gate and stepped onto the property. The sound of his footsteps echoed through the stillness, a stark contrast to the warmth and laughter that once filled the air. Dorothy, oblivious to the storm brewing, was busy in the kitchen, preparing lunch. As Lucas approached the door, he could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He had a plan, and he was determined to see it through. But as he raised his hand to knock, he hesitated. What was he doing? Was this really worth it? The doubt crept in, and for a moment, Lucas wavered. But then, he steeled himself and knocked on the door. The sound echoed through the house, and Lucas's heart sank. He knew that he was about to unleash a storm, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for the consequences. The door swung open, and Dorothy stood before him, a mixture of surprise and wariness in her eyes. "Lucas, what are you doing here?" she asked, her voice firm but cautious. Lucas smiled, a cold, calculated smile. "I just wanted to talk to you, Dorothy," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I have something to say, and I think you need to hear it." Dorothy's eyes narrowed, and she took a step back, her instincts telling her that this was not going to be a pleasant conversation. But she stood her ground, ready to face whatever Lucas had to say. Little did she know, her life was about to take a dramatic turn.
