"A Cry for Help"
Part 104
Avan's expression turned thoughtful as he considered Ashley's words. He could see the desperation in her eyes, and he knew that he had to do something to help her. "I know it's a lot to take on, but I think we should consider all our options," he said, his voice calm and rational. Ashley shook her head, feeling a sense of frustration wash over her. "I don't know how I'll manage if we put a third baby in the mix," she said, her voice laced with anxiety. "Please think logically, Avan. We're already struggling to keep our heads above water with two little ones. How are we supposed to do it with three?" Avan took a deep breath, trying to approach the conversation calmly. "I'm not suggesting that we have another baby right now," he said. "But we should think about our future, and what we want it to look like. We can't just assume that we're done having children because of the challenges we're facing right now." Ashley felt a surge of emotion, and she knew that she had to be careful not to let her feelings get the better of her. "I'm just saying that we need to think about what's best for our family," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "And right now, I'm not sure that having another baby is the best decision." Avan nodded, his expression understanding. "I agree," he said. "But we should also think about the possibility that we might want to have more children in the future. We can't just rule it out without considering all our options." Ashley sighed, feeling a sense of exhaustion wash over her. She knew that Avan was right, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she was already at her breaking point. "I just feel so overwhelmed," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know how to do this, Avan. I don't know how to be a good mom and a good wife and take care of our home and...and everything else." Avan pulled her into his arms, holding her close as she cried. "You'll figure it out," he whispered, his voice soothing. "We'll figure it out together. And we'll take it one step at a time. We'll make a plan, and we'll work together to make it happen." As they hugged, Ashley felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she wasn't alone, and that Avan was there to support her. And for the first time in a long time, she felt like she might actually be able to make it through this after all.
