Chapter 1: An Unassuming Encounter

Part 1

The sun was setting over the bustling streets of downtown, casting a warm orange glow over the crowded sidewalks. Reg, a charming and outgoing young man, was walking home from a long day at work, lost in thought as he strolled along. As he turned a corner, he noticed a woman with piercing green eyes and long, curly brown hair laughing with a friend outside a local café. Their eyes met, and she flashed Reg a bright, flirtatious smile. Reg, taken aback by her forwardness, couldn't help but smile back. The woman, whose name was Sophia, excused herself from her friend and approached Reg. They struck up a conversation, exchanging small talk and laughter as they stood on the sidewalk. Reg found himself feeling drawn to Sophia's charming and carefree nature. As they chatted, James, Reg's boyfriend, watched from across the street, his eyes narrowing as he observed the scene unfolding before him. He had been walking home from the gym and had noticed Reg talking to Sophia. At first, he thought nothing of it, assuming it was just a friendly encounter. However, as he continued to watch, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease growing inside him. James quickened his pace, his eyes fixed on Reg and Sophia as he crossed the street. As he approached, Sophia was wrapping up her conversation, and Reg was saying goodbye. James' unease turned to anger as he realized Reg had been flirting with this stranger. He felt a surge of possessiveness and jealousy, which he couldn't control. "Hey, let's go," James said, his voice low and even, as he approached Reg. Reg turned, noticing the tension in James' body language. "What's wrong?" he asked, sensing that something was off. James didn't respond. Instead, he grabbed Reg's arm and pulled him toward a nearby alleyway. Reg stumbled, caught off guard by James' sudden behavior. "What are you doing, James?" Reg asked, trying to shake off the feeling of unease. James' eyes locked onto Reg's, his gaze intense. "You're going to do exactly as I say," he said, his voice firm. Reg felt a shiver run down his spine as James' words sent a chill through his body. He had never seen James like this before, and he wasn't sure what to expect. "Okay," Reg said, his voice barely above a whisper. James' eyes seemed to bore into Reg's soul as he replied, "Good."
