Joe's eyes gleamed with a sinister intensity as he stared at the packet of condoms on his nightstand. He had been thinking about this moment for weeks, ever since he had realized that Maya was slipping away from him. He couldn't let her go, not now, not ever. He would do whatever it took to keep Maya by his side, even if it meant manipulating her into staying.
