**Chapter 3: The Nurse's Office**

Part 3

The nurse, Mrs. Nakamura, efficiently led Izuku to a small examination room, where she quickly got him cleaned up and changed into a fresh set of clothes. Hitoshi waited anxiously outside, his eyes fixed on the door, willing Izuku to come out with a smile on his face. But as the minutes ticked by, his expression grew increasingly worried. Finally, Mrs. Nakamura emerged with a gentle smile. "Izuku, Hitoshi, please come in. I think we need to have a chat." Izuku's heart sank as he followed Mrs. Nakamura back into the examination room. Hitoshi's hand found its way into his, offering a reassuring squeeze. Mrs. Nakamura took a seat behind her desk, her eyes locked onto Izuku's. "Izuku, from what you've described, it seems like you might be experiencing some early signs of...well, it's a bit complicated, but I think it's best if I just explain it straightforwardly. You're likely starting to develop what's called 'Quirk manifestation symptoms'." Izuku's eyes widened in confusion. "Quirk manifestation symptoms?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. Mrs. Nakamura nodded. "Yes, you see, as young adults, our bodies start to undergo various changes as our Quirks begin to develop. In your case, Izuku, it seems like your body is reacting in a way that's not entirely normal. The blood in your urine, the...other symptoms...they're all indicative of your Quirk starting to manifest." Hitoshi's grip on Izuku's hand tightened. "But what does that mean, exactly?" he asked, his voice laced with concern. Mrs. Nakamura leaned forward, her expression serious. "It means that Izuku's Quirk is likely going to be...unpredictable. It might take some time to fully develop, but we need to monitor his condition closely to ensure his safety and the safety of those around him." Izuku felt like he'd been punched in the gut. Unpredictable Quirk? What did that even mean? He thought back to his childhood, to the strange sensations he'd experienced, but never understood. Could this be connected? As Mrs. Nakamura continued to explain the situation, Izuku's mind reeled with questions. What kind of Quirk would he have? Would it be something he could control? And what about his family? How would they react? The one thing that brought him a sense of comfort was Hitoshi's presence. His boyfriend's hand remained firmly in his, offering a reassuring presence that made Izuku feel like he wasn't alone. As they left the nurse's office, Hitoshi turned to Izuku with a determined look on his face. "We'll figure this out, Izuku. Together. And I'll be right by your side every step of the way." Izuku smiled weakly, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Hitoshi. But deep down, he couldn't shake off the feeling that his life was about to take a dramatic turn, one that would change him forever.
