Chapter 11: A Mysterious Arrival

Part 11

The days passed, and Iduna continued to find solace in her routine as queen mother. She spent her mornings attending to her duties, and her afternoons spent with Elsa and Anna, enjoying quiet moments and helping with royal duties. The palace was bustling with activity, but Iduna had grown accustomed to the rhythms of palace life. She had just finished a meeting with Elsa and some of the council members, discussing the upcoming harvest festival, when a commotion outside caught her attention. As she walked to the window, she saw a young boy being led into the palace courtyard by one of the guards. He was small for his age, with auburn hair that was messy and unkempt. Iduna's curiosity was piqued as she watched the boy look around, his eyes wide with wonder. The guard approached Iduna and bowed. "Your Majesty, this young boy was found wandering the streets of Arendelle. He seems to be alone, and he doesn't seem to know where he belongs." Iduna's maternal instincts kicked in, and she felt a pang of concern for the young boy. She walked out into the courtyard, her brown hair done up in a coronet braid, and approached the boy. "Hello there, young one," she said, trying to sound warm and welcoming. "What's your name?" The boy looked up at her, his eyes searching. "I...I don't know," he stammered. Iduna's heart went out to him. She could see the fear and uncertainty in his eyes, and she knew that she had to help him. "It's okay," she said gently. "We'll figure it out. What's the last thing you remember?" The boy thought for a moment, his brow furrowed in concentration. "I remember being...being older," he said slowly. "And then...and then I was younger. I don't know what happened." Iduna's curiosity was piqued. She had a feeling that this young boy's story was more complicated than he was letting on. But for now, she just wanted to help him feel safe and secure. "Come with me," she said, taking the boy's hand. "We'll get you sorted out." As they walked into the palace, Iduna couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. Who was this young boy, and what was his story? She knew that she had to help him, and she was determined to get to the bottom of things. The boy looked up at her, his eyes shining with trust. Iduna smiled, feeling a sense of purpose wash over her. She was going to help this young boy, no matter what it took. As they walked, Iduna noticed that the boy was limping slightly. "Are you hurt?" she asked, concern etched on her face. The boy nodded. "I think so," he said. "I don't know how I got here or what happened to me." Iduna's heart went out to him. She knew that she had to get him medical attention, and fast. She called for one of the palace guards to escort them to the infirmary. As they walked, Iduna couldn't help but wonder about the boy's past. What had happened to him? How had he ended up in Arendelle? She knew that she had to get to the bottom of things, but for now, she just wanted to help him heal. The infirmary was quiet, the only sound the soft beeping of the medical equipment. Iduna watched as the doctor tended to the boy's wounds, her heart aching with compassion. As the doctor finished up, Iduna turned to the boy. "We'll take care of you," she said, smiling. "You're safe now." The boy looked up at her, his eyes shining with gratitude. Iduna smiled, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she had a lot to learn about this young boy, but for now, she just wanted to help him.
