The Sing-Off Aftermath
Part 151
The room was silent once more, the only sound the echoes of the last notes sung by the competitors. I couldn't help but smile as I listened to the final performances, each one more enthusiastic and heartfelt than the last. Deku's powerful vocals on a classic anime theme song had brought the house down, while Bakugo's rendition of a popular idol hit had left everyone breathless. Kirishima's off-key but endearing singing of a silly children's song had brought laughter and applause, and even Todoroki's stoic demeanor had cracked a little as he sang a soulful ballad. Shinso, who had surprisingly saved his best for last, had blown everyone away with his smooth and soulful voice, earning him a standing ovation. Mina, not to be left out, had sung a sweet and gentle lullaby that had melted everyone's hearts. And as for me, I was just happy to have been a part of it all. As the last notes faded away, I took a deep breath and stood up, clapping my hands together to get everyone's attention. "Alright, it's time to announce the winners!" I exclaimed, trying to sound more confident than I felt. The room erupted into cheers and applause as I paused for dramatic effect. "And the winner of the coveted spot next to me is... Shinso!" I announced, trying to sound like a game show host. Shinso let out a triumphant whoop as he pumped his fist in the air, his face flushed with excitement. Deku and Bakugo grinned and clapped him on the back, good-naturedly congratulating him on his win. "And the runner-up is... Deku!" I added, making Deku's face light up with a bright smile. Deku let out a happy shout as he high-fived Bakugo, who grinned and clapped him on the back. Kirishima and Todoroki chuckled and shook hands, while Mina bounced up and down, excitedly chattering about the performances. As the room settled down, I turned to Shinso and smiled. "Congratulations, Shinso. You're the lucky one who gets to sleep next to me tonight." Shinso grinned, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Thanks, Vesper. I won't let you down." I chuckled and shook my head, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation for the night ahead. Little did I know, it was going to be a night to remember.
