"A Conversation in the Dark"
Part 4
Brad knocked softly on the door, and Maya's heart skipped a beat as she hesitated for a moment before calling out, "Come in." The door creaked open, and Brad stepped inside, his eyes adjusting to the dim light in the room. Maya sat on the bed, her back against the wall, and Brad closed the door behind him, his movements smooth and deliberate. "So, how are you adjusting?" he asked, his voice low and husky as he walked over to the window and gazed out into the night. Maya shrugged, trying to play it cool, but her heart was racing. "It's...different," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Brad turned to face her, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Different?" he repeated, his voice rising at the end. Maya nodded, her eyes locked on his. "Yeah. I mean, I'm not used to being...trapped," she said, trying to keep her tone light. Brad chuckled, and Maya felt a flutter in her chest. "Trapped?" he repeated, his voice dripping with amusement. "Is that what you think this is?" Maya's eyes narrowed, her heart pounding in her chest. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice firm. Brad shrugged, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I mean, you're not trapped, Maya. You're...invited," he said, his voice low and husky. Maya's eyes locked on his, and she felt a surge of anger. "Invited?" she repeated, her voice rising. "You kidnapped me and brought me here against my will. That's not an invitation." Brad's eyes flashed with something, and for a moment, Maya thought she saw a glimmer of regret. But then, his expression smoothed out, and he smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Maybe I did," he said, his voice low and husky. "But you're here now, and I think you're starting to see that it's not so bad." Maya's eyes narrowed, her heart pounding in her chest. "What do you want from me, Brad?" she asked, her voice firm. Brad's eyes locked on hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Then, he took a step closer, his eyes glinting with something. "I want to talk about the kiss," he said, his voice low and husky. Maya's heart skipped a beat as she felt a flush rise to her cheeks. "What about it?" she asked, trying to play it cool. Brad's eyes locked on hers, and he took another step closer. "I think you know what I mean," he said, his voice dripping with seduction. "You felt something, didn't you?" Maya's eyes dropped, and she felt a surge of embarrassment. But then, she looked up, her eyes locking on Brad's. "Yes," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I felt something." Brad's eyes glinted with amusement, and he took another step closer, his face inches from hers. "I think I did too," he said, his voice low and husky. Maya's heart skipped a beat as she felt a spark of electricity run through her body. She knew she was in trouble, but she couldn't help the way she felt. "I think I might be developing feelings for you, Brad," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Brad's eyes locked on hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Then, he smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I think I might be developing feelings for you too, Maya," he said, his voice low and husky. Maya's heart soared, and she felt a surge of hope. Maybe, just maybe, she could find a way out of this situation after all. But as she looked into Brad's eyes, she knew that she was playing with fire.
