"A Moment of Unlikely Levity"
Part 6
Kai's gaze drifted from Bryce to Tylil, his eyes burning with a fierce intensity. "You do understand that if you back him up, I could expel you as well," he angrily stated, his voice low and menacing. The room went silent, the tension palpable as Kai's anger hung in the air, waiting to erupt again. The silence was quickly broken by Ray's giggles. The sound was unexpected, and Kai's angry eyes softened as he looked at Ray. He even slightly smirked, despite still being visibly pissed. Tylil and Bryce, on the other hand, were furious. Bryce's face twisted in anger, and he spat at Ray, "Do you think this is funny?" he sneered. Ray smiled and nodded, his Taiwanese accent and stutter evident in his words. "Y-yes, I-I think it's kinda funny," he said, his giggles still echoing through the room. Tylil snapped his head from Ray to Kai, his eyes wide with indignation. "Why isn't he getting punished, huh? He's clearly misbehaving," he angrily stated. "I think we may have a corrupt dean," he added, his voice dripping with venom. Kai's expression darkened, and his anger only seemed to grow. "I'm not fucking corrupt," he snarled. "I just hate seeing grown men acting like little pissed-off babies towards somebody who's clearly not fazed by them," he said, his voice rising in frustration. Rakai took a step back, his eyes fixed on Kai, worried about what might happen next. He had never seen Kai like this before, and he wasn't sure how much longer the situation could be contained. Tylil took a step forward, his face pale with anger. "You're not taking this seriously, Kai," he said, his voice shaking with rage. "You're supposed to be a dean, not a joke." Kai's smirk grew wider, and he leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Ray's face. "I think I've heard enough," he said, his voice calm and collected. "Ray, why don't you go back to your stream? I think we've all had enough of this conversation." Ray nodded, still smiling, and turned to leave. As he walked out of the room, he turned back to Kai and said, "T-thank you, Dean Kai." His words were met with a nod from Kai, who was still watching him with a softened expression. The room remained silent, the tension still palpable, as Tylil and Bryce exchanged angry glances. It was clear that this was far from over.
