"Midnight Confessions"
Part 82
As the night wore on, the girls and I began to wind down, our eyelids growing heavy with exhaustion. Mina, however, seemed to be gaining energy, her spark and enthusiasm still radiating brightly despite the late hour. I was starting to drift off to sleep, my head resting against the wall, when Mina suddenly sat up and turned to me. "Hey, Vesper, wanna talk about romance???" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, but still loud enough to catch my attention. I felt a sudden jolt of surprise, and my eyes widened as I turned to her. The other girls looked at me with interest, their faces illuminated by the soft glow of the lanterns. Just as I was about to respond, I noticed that the boys on the other side of the quarters had fallen silent. I could sense their presence, their ears perked up as they listened in on our conversation. Bakugo, Katsuki, Todoroki, and Deku were all trying to be stealthy, but I could feel their eyes on us, their interest piqued. Mina seemed oblivious to the boys' eavesdropping, her gaze fixed on me as she waited for a response. The other girls looked at me with curiosity, their faces expectant. I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. I didn't want to encourage the conversation, but at the same time, I didn't want to shut Mina down. "I...I don't know, Mina," I stammered, trying to play it cool. Mina grinned mischievously. "Come on, Vesper, don't be shy. We can talk about anything." The girls nodded in agreement, their eyes sparkling with excitement. I could feel the boys' presence, their silence oppressive as they listened in on our conversation. I knew that this was going to be a long and awkward night. As I looked around at the girls, I could sense their anticipation, their desire to talk about romance and relationships. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the conversation that was about to unfold. Little did I know, we had some uninvited listeners who were eager to hear every detail.
