The League's Sinister Intentions

Part 96

I finally found my voice, and I yelled out, "How do you know my name is Vesper?" The words burst out of me, fueled by a mix of fear and curiosity. Dabi's grin grew even wider, and he chuckled, a low, menacing sound. "Ah, Vesper, you're quite the enigma," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. "We learned about you during the Sports Festival. You made quite an impression, even if it was unintentional." He paused, his gaze seeming to bore into me. "But we've been trying to find you for a while now. You're quite the elusive one." I felt a shiver run down my spine as his words sent a chill through me. How did they know about the Sports Festival? And what had I done to draw their attention? I tried to recall every detail of that day, but nothing stood out as particularly noteworthy. I glanced at my friends, but they seemed just as confused and concerned as I was. Dabi's eyes flicked to Bakugo, and he said, "And as for you, Explosion Boy, you've been making waves with your... abilities. We're very interested in seeing how far you can take them." His voice dripped with malice, and I could sense the League's true intentions: they wanted to exploit us, to use us for their own twisted purposes. I felt a surge of anger and determination. We weren't going to let them take us without a fight. Deku stepped forward, his eyes locked on Dabi. "We're not going to hand you over. We're a team, and we stick together." Dabi's laughter was cold and mirthless. "How quaint. You think you can protect each other from us? We're the League of Villains. We're the ones who will be shaping the future of this country, and you're just a bunch of naive heroes trying to cling to the past." The League members flanking Dabi took a step forward, their eyes gleaming with excitement. I could sense the tension building, the air thickening with anticipation. It was clear that Dabi wasn't interested in negotiations; he was here to get what he wanted, no matter the cost. I knew that we had to act fast. We couldn't let the League take us without a fight. But as I looked at Dabi, I realized that we were in grave danger. The League of Villains was not to be underestimated, and we were running out of time.
