**Chapter 5: Slumber's Solace**

Part 5

As I drifted off to sleep, Hange's voice continued to whisper sweet nothings in my ear, his words a gentle stream of reassurance that I was safe, that he was there, and that he would never leave me. The crib mobile above me twirled gently, casting a hypnotic spell, and I felt my eyelids growing heavy. The soft blanket wrapped around me was like a warm hug, and I snuggled into its comfort, feeling a sense of security wash over me. Time lost all meaning as I slept, and I was vaguely aware of Hange's presence beside me, his hand gently stroking my hair, his eyes watching over me with a deep concern. I didn't know how long I slept, but when I finally woke up, I felt refreshed, my pain and fatigue somewhat alleviated. As I opened my eyes, I saw Hange sitting beside the crib, his eyes fixed intently on me. He was holding a cup of steaming hot tea, and a small smile played on his lips. "Good morning, my love," he said softly, his voice low and soothing. "How are you feeling?" I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, and I fell back onto the pillow. Hange quickly set the tea aside and leaned forward, his hands gently grasping my shoulders. "Easy, my love," he whispered. "Don't try to sit up too quickly. You've been through a lot, and you need to take it easy." I nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed at my own weakness. Hange helped me sit up slowly, supporting my back with his arm. As I looked around the room, I realized that I had no idea where I was or how I got there. The last thing I remembered was being in the hospital, and now...now I was in this strange, nursery-like room. Hange seemed to sense my confusion and gently explained, "We're in a safe house, my love. A place where we can be alone, where no one can find us." He paused, his eyes locked onto mine. "You're safe here. I promise." I nodded, trying to process everything. The safe house, the nursery, Hange's tender care...it all seemed so surreal. But as I looked into his eyes, I saw the genuine concern and love there, and I knew that I could trust him. As I sat up, Hange handed me the cup of tea, and I took a sip, feeling the warm liquid soothe my throat. The tea was sweet and comforting, and I savored the taste, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. Hange smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm glad you're feeling better," he said, his voice low and gentle. "We have a lot to talk about, my love. But for now, let's just enjoy the quiet. We can talk later." I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. In this moment, I knew that I was exactly where I needed to be – in Hange's care, in this safe haven. And as I sipped my tea, I felt a sense of peace settle over me, a sense of trust in Hange that I had never felt before.
