A Desperate Alliance
Part 4
A loud click broke the short-lived silence, and the door unlocked with a metallic sound. Myung-gi stood and rushed towards the door, but a firm hand grasped his arm, stopping him in his tracks. Young-il's grip was like a vice, and Myung-gi couldn't help but feel a surge of fear. "Why don't you come stay with my group?" Young-il asked, his voice dripping with a sickeningly sweet tone. "I wouldn't want to be a bother," Myung-gi replied tensely, trying to wriggle free from Young-il's grasp. "Let's go, we don't want to keep them waiting," Young-il said once again, his voice unwavering in its sweetness. It was as if he hadn't heard Myung-gi's response or had chosen to interpret it differently. Myung-gi didn't want to go with him, but he was dragged along by the older man's strong grip. As they walked, Myung-gi caught sight of a small group of players gathered together. His eyes widened as he recognized one of them - Junhee, his pregnant ex-girlfriend. He felt a mix of emotions: relief that she was alive, but also anxiety about facing her. Player 456, Gihun, looked up and noticed Young-il had brought someone with him. Before he could say anything, Junhee beat him to it. "Why is he here?" she asked, her voice laced with hatred. The others shared a look, and Young-il happily replied, "He's joining our team." Gihun raised an eyebrow, seemingly unsure about adding a random person to their group. Junhee, on the other hand, was visibly upset. "Whatever he told you to make you like him was a lie," Junhee coldly stated, her eyes fixed on Myung-gi. Young-il's smile faltered for a moment, and he faked a happy tone, "Oh, he didn't do much talking, but he seems like a good guy. Plus, I would've died if I didn't room with him." Myung-gi felt a surge of anger at Young-il's words, but he bit his tongue, unsure of how to react. Gihun asked, "Why don't you want player 333 there?" Junhee's expression turned bitter, "He's the reason I'm in debt, and he's my ex." The group's dynamics were already complicated, and Myung-gi's presence seemed to have stirred up more tension. Just as the others were about to speak, the guards ushered them to follow them back to the Bunk room. Myung-gi was forced to walk beside Young-il, his arm still grasping his wrist. As they walked, Myung-gi couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. He was trapped in this game with a group of strangers, including his ex-girlfriend, who seemed to hate him. Young-il's grip on his arm was like a constant reminder that he was at the mercy of this older man. Myung-gi's only hope was to survive this game and make it out alive.
