"Aftershocks"
Part 45
The door to my room was still shut, and I was leaning against it, trying to process what had just happened. I could still feel my heart racing and my mind reeling from the confrontation with the boys. Meanwhile, in the common room, Mina's voice suddenly rose to a loud, exasperated yell. "Are you guys stupid? She was obviously scared of you! Don't ever do that again!" Her words were like a slap in the face, and the boys immediately froze, looking chastened. The room fell silent, and I could hear the boys' sheepish murmurs. "Mina, we're sorry..." Deku started, but Mina cut him off. "No, no, no! Sorry isn't going to cut it this time. You guys need to learn to control your emotions and respect people's boundaries!" Mina's scolding was followed by Ochaco's chiming in, "Yeah, what were you guys thinking? You could have really hurt her!" The boys' murmurs turned into apologetic mutterings, and I could sense their genuine regret. Mina's outburst seemed to have calmed them down, and they looked like they were truly sorry. Mina and Ochaco suddenly rushed towards my room, their footsteps light and quick. "Katsuki, we need to make sure she's okay!" Mina called out, her voice softer now. The boys quickly followed, their movements a bit more subdued. I didn't realize they were all gathering outside my room, but I could hear their hushed whispers and footsteps. I took another deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I was still shaken, but I knew I needed to talk to them eventually. I straightened up, smoothing out my clothes, and made my way to the door. As I opened it, I was met with a sea of concerned faces. Mina and Ochaco were right in front of me, with the boys standing behind them, looking sheepish. I took a step back, surprised to see them all there. Mina immediately wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug. "We're so sorry, Katsuki. We won't let anything like that happen again." Ochaco nodded in agreement, her eyes wide with concern. The boys stood behind them, their eyes fixed on me, filled with regret and apology. Deku's eyes were red-rimmed, Bakugo's face was still flushed, and Todoroki's gaze was somber. I looked at them, unsure of what to say. Part of me was still scared and hurt, but another part of me wanted to forgive them, to move past this and go back to the way things were before. But for now, I just stood there, frozen, unsure of what to do next.
