**After the Storm**
Part 11
As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the warm water cascading down their bodies, Kenzy couldn't help but feel a sense of vulnerability wash over her. She had always been the strong one, the one in control, but with Levi, she felt like she was losing herself in the process. He had a way of unraveling her, of making her feel like she was at his mercy. Kenzy pushed away from Levi, her eyes searching his face as she tried to catch her breath. The steam from the shower filled the air, fogging up the mirror and creating a sense of intimacy that was hard to ignore. She stepped out of the shower, her movements slow and deliberate, and Levi followed her, his eyes never leaving hers. As they stood there, dripping wet and wrapped in each other's arms, Kenzy couldn't help but feel like she was drowning in her emotions. She had always prided herself on being in control, on being the one who called the shots. But with Levi, she felt like she was losing herself, like she was drowning in the depths of his eyes. "I'm going to go get some towels," Kenzy said, her voice barely above a whisper. Levi nodded, his eyes still locked onto hers, and she stepped out of the bathroom, leaving him to dry off. She grabbed a few towels from the linen closet and handed him one, their eyes locking as he dried himself off. Kenzy couldn't help but feel like she was walking on thin ice, like one wrong move could send her tumbling into a world of hurt. As she dried herself off, Kenzy caught sight of herself in the mirror. Her hair was a mess, her skin flushed and her eyes looked... different. They seemed to sparkle with a newfound intensity, like she was finally seeing herself for who she truly was. She slipped on her robe, feeling a sense of vulnerability wash over her. Levi stepped up behind her, his arms wrapping around her waist as he pulled her close. "You okay?" he asked, his voice low and gentle. Kenzy nodded, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. For a moment, she just let herself be, letting the warmth of his body seep into her skin. She knew that eventually, she would have to confront the reason behind Levi's lies, but for now, she just wanted to bask in the glow of their passion. "Levi?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah?" "Why did you lie to me?" she asked, her voice barely audible. He pulled back, his eyes locking onto hers. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable. "I told you, I was scared," Levi said, his voice rough. "I was scared of losing you, of losing myself in you. I didn't know how else to protect myself, or you, than to lie." Kenzy's eyes searched his, trying to find some hint of sincerity. But as she looked into his eyes, she saw something there that gave her pause. Something that looked almost like... fear. "What are you scared of, Levi?" she asked, her voice soft. He looked away, his eyes drifting to the floor. For a moment, Kenzy thought she saw a glimmer of vulnerability, of weakness. But then his gaze snapped back to hers, and she saw the mask slip back into place. "I'm scared of losing you," he said, his voice low and rough. "I'm scared of what could happen if I tell you the truth." Kenzy's heart skipped a beat as she realized that there was more to Levi's story than she was letting on. There was something he wasn't telling her, something that was eating away at him. "Tell me," she whispered, her voice barely audible. Levi's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, Kenzy thought she saw a flash of uncertainty. But then his face hardened, and he looked away. "I'll tell you," he said, his voice low and rough. "But not now. Not yet." Kenzy's eyes narrowed, but she let it slide. For now, she was willing to let it go, to just enjoy the moment and the passion that had brought them together. As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Kenzy knew that she had a choice to make. She could either let her anger consume her, or she could try to understand what had driven Levi to lie to her. She took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. For now, she was willing to let it go. But as soon as Levi was ready to talk, she was going to make him face the music. The sound of her phone buzzing broke the spell, and Kenzy reluctantly pulled away from Levi. She glanced at the screen, her heart sinking as she saw the missed calls from her sister, Mia. "Shit," she muttered, feeling a sense of dread wash over her. Levi's eyes narrowed. "What is it?" Kenzy hesitated, unsure of how to respond. She didn't want to think about her problems right now, not when she was still reeling from the passion that had brought them together. "It's Mia," Kenzy said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need to call her back." Levi's eyes flickered with concern, but he said nothing. Instead, he just pulled her close, his arms wrapping around her waist as she dialed her sister's number. As she waited for Mia to pick up, Kenzy couldn't help but wonder what her sister wanted. And why did she feel like a sense of dread was settling in her stomach, like a storm was brewing on the horizon?
