"A Sudden Shift in the Solar System"
Part 2
A few days had passed since Solara's sense of foreboding, and the planets continued to go about their daily routines. Mercury, as usual, was bustling with activity, his surface a blur of motion as he zoomed from one appointment to the next. But beneath his surface, a sudden shift was occurring. A small collision between two of his core fragments went unnoticed by Mercury, but it would soon have a profound impact on his well-being. At first, it was just a faint tingling sensation. Mercury couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, but he felt like something was amiss. He tried to shake it off, thinking it was just a minor glitch, but the sensation grew in intensity. It wasn't until he felt a searing pain on his surface that he realized something was seriously wrong. "Aaaaah!" Mercury wailed in pain, his usual speed and agility momentarily forgotten. "Something's burning! Oh, Solara, help!" Solara, who had been watching over the planets from a distance, immediately sprang into action. She rushed to Mercury's side, concern etched on her face. Venus, who had been nearby, also hastened to his aid. "Mercury, what's happening?" Solara asked, her voice filled with worry. Mercury's surface was starting to crack and smolder, and he couldn't seem to put out the flames. "I don't know, Solara! It just started hurting, and now... now I'm on fire!" He writhed in agony, his usually sleek surface now distorted by the growing fissures. Venus used her gentle, soothing energy to try and calm Mercury down. "Don't worry, Mercury. We'll figure out what's going on and fix it. Solara, can you see what's causing this?" Solara examined Mercury's surface, searching for any signs of what might be causing the pain. She noticed that his core was fluctuating wildly, and his magnetic field was weakening. "It looks like there's something going on beneath your surface, Mercury. I'm not sure what it is, but I think it might have something to do with that collision I sensed a few days ago." Mercury's eyes widened in alarm. "A collision? What do you mean?" Solara's expression was grim. "I'm not entirely sure, but I think it might have caused some instability in your core. We need to get to the bottom of this and find a way to stop the pain." As Solara and Venus worked to try and alleviate Mercury's suffering, the other planets began to take notice of the commotion. Earth, who had been watching from a distance, sent his thoughts of calm and healing towards Mercury. Mars, ever the adventurer, wondered what could be causing the trouble. The gas giants, Jupiter and Saturn, discussed the possibility of a new asteroid field or a rogue planet causing the disturbance. Meanwhile, Uranus and Neptune, the ice giants, observed the situation with interest, their quiet nature a stark contrast to the growing concern in the solar system. Little did they know, this was only the beginning of a series of events that would change the solar system forever. For now, Solara and Venus focused on helping Mercury, trying to ease his pain and figure out the cause of the mysterious burning sensation on his surface. As they worked, Solara couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the start of something much bigger, something that would affect not just Mercury, but the entire solar system.
