The air was thick with tension as Ray sat down in the chair opposite Kai's desk, his eyes locked on the dean's intense gaze. He could feel the weight of the university's policies bearing down on them, and the potential consequences of their relationship hung like a sword of Damocles over their heads. "I understand that you didn't mean to put me on the spot," Ray said, trying to keep his voice steady. "But you have to understand that your confession has caused a stir. Emma nodded and stepped aside, revealing a tall, imposing figure standing in the doorway. Ray's eyes widened as he recognized the man - it was the university's president, Dr. Lee. "Dean Kai, I'm afraid it's not just the board of trustees that's interested in this situation," Dr. Lee said, his voice dripping with disapproval. "The media has gotten wind of it, and they're clamoring for a statement." Kai's face set in a determined expression, and he stepped forward, his eyes locked on Dr. Lee's. "I'll give them a statement, all right. I'll tell them the truth - that I'm in love with Ray, and I won't let anyone or anything come between us."
